Your role 


The Account Director leads True Blue's most important client relationships, combining hands-on client delivery with strategic leadership—leading accounts, doing the work, growing revenue, and raising the standard for how the team serves clients. You own the health of your accounts: tracking progress against milestones, keeping projects on time and on budget, and always looking for the next opportunity to grow the relationship. You'll be the person clients trust, the colleague teammates lean on, and the steady hand that keeps complex, fast-moving campaigns on track.

Your Responsibilities


Client leadership & delivery

  • Own a portfolio of key client relationships. You're the main point of contact, the lead strategist, and the person clients call when it matters
  • Track account progress against key milestones, flag risks early, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director, Campaign Director, Public Affairs Director, CEO, and other internal experts to develop and execute communication plans, campaign strategies, and public affairs work
  • Write and review client-facing materials, including presentations, strategic plans, and campaign plans, and make sure everything that goes out is excellent
  • Lead client meetings, present deliverables, and run strategy sessions that keep campaigns moving in the right direction
  • Stay ahead of client needs, offer honest counsel, and look for ways to add value
  • Own account workflows and project execution, partnering with the ops team to keep campaigns on time and running smoothly


Account growth & business development

  • Actively monitor account health and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts—pitch expanded work when the opportunity is there
  • Own the revenue trajectory of your accounts: know where things stand, where they're headed, and what it takes to get them there
  • Lead new business efforts, including writing proposals, building pitch decks, and presenting to prospective clients
  • Build relationships and pursue opportunities that bring new clients and new work to True Blue


Team leadership & best practices

  • Help raise the bar for how the agency runs accounts by bringing good habits, clear processes, and high standards
  • Support the team on scoping, work planning, onboarding new clients, and making sure the right people are on the right work
  • Run monthly internal account check-ins to spot opportunities, solve problems, and keep priorities straight
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and ops team to improve account processes and keep workflows running smoothly across the agency

What we’re looking for


  • 8+ years managing client accounts and leading strategic work in an agency setting. We care less about which sector you came from and more about whether you've led complex, high-stakes work at a high level.
  • A track record of leading client relationships and delivering complex, multi-faceted paid media campaigns at a high level
  • Sharp writing skills. You can draft a strategic plan, develop a presentation deck, and compose emails that land
  • Experience managing multiple fast-moving projects 
  • Comfortable leading a room—whether that's a client kickoff, a strategy session, or a new business pitch
