Team Lead, Scientific Discovery Platforms

Lead a team of scientific experts responsible for ensuring the quality, discoverability, and customer relevance of search and API experiences across Reaxys, Embase, and future AI-enabled life sciences solutions.

About the Role:-

You will lead a team of 5-10 experienced Data Analysts supporting multiple Life Science solutions, including Reaxys and Embase. Our work operates at the intersection of scientific domain expertise, advanced data analysis, and the adoption of AI-enabled technologies.

Responsibilities:-

• Lead scientific subject matter experts (SMEs) evaluating Reaxys and Embase search and API quality.
• Improve discoverability through expert input on data models and pipelines.
• Oversee customer-focused quality assurance, testing, and feature releases.
• Escalate unexpected search and API changes with expert insight.
• Provide usage insights and recommendations for data-driven platform improvements.
• Represent expert customer perspectives throughout product development and delivery.
• Set and champion the quality standards by which search and API outputs are judged, ensuring results meet the bar expert customers expect.

Requirements:-

• Academic background (Masters/PhD) in Bioinformatics, Cheminformatic/Chemistry Biochemistry  or allied fields
• Strong data analysis and scripting skills using Python (Jupyter Notebook) and Bash
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork
• Demonstrated experience contributing to or validating AI/GenAI-based testing frameworks and analytical workflows
• Hands-on experience working with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or other relational/analytical database systems)
• Experience working with large datasets on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
• Experience driving projects forward, coordinating stakeholders, documenting work, and presenting results.
