Design and build rich, interactive story experiences and multimedia features in collaboration with journalists. Translate complex investigative topics into compelling visual-first narratives to drive public accountability.

Journalists submit ambitious accountability story proposals that align with ProPublica's mission, focusing on investigations that are revelatory or substantially advance known information on important subjects. Proposals must include a clear hypothesis, details on gathered anecdotes/data/documents, expected findings, potential accountability stories, and required resources like data work, travel, and public records.

Fellows will produce investigative journalism projects in partnership with ProPublica. They will receive support and guidance from ProPublica while working from their home newsrooms.
