Workday HCM Functional Consultant (m/w/d)

Working Model: Primarily remote, with occasional client-site visits

Our client is looking for an experienced Workday HCM Functional Consultant fluent in Italian or German to join its EMEA Professional Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of customers, lead end-to-end implementations, and contribute to the adoption of innovative HR technology, including AI-powered solutions and agentic tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end Workday HCM implementations across a varied customer portfolio.

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business needs and translating requirements into effective system configurations.

• Facilitate functional design workshops and align solutions with customer objectives and desired business outcomes.

• Configure and implement one or more Workday functional areas.

• Guide customers through multiple rounds of testing, ensuring solution quality and readiness for deployment.

• Support go-live activities, provide post-production assistance, and coach customers on maximizing the value of their Workday solutions.

• Collaborate with colleagues across a diverse, multilingual, and international team.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, including AI solutions and agentic tooling, to enhance customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Active Workday Core HCM Certification is mandatory, with readiness to be deployed on customer engagements.

• At least 5 years of functional experience with Workday HCM.

• At least 5 years of consulting experience, gained as an internal consultant, with a consulting or software company, or as a contractor supporting customer deployments.

• Business-level fluency in Italian or German, both written and spoken, alongside English.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted customer relationships.

• A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to understand business challenges and deliver practical, value-driven solutions.

• A willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

• The ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a wider team.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time under normal circumstances.

Nice to Have

• Additional Workday certifications, particularly in specialist modules.

• Experience implementing multiple Workday functional modules.

• An interest in AI-driven technologies and emerging enterprise software solutions.
