JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A WEBSITE DEVELOPER
As a Website Developer
You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of a large-scale website migration project while maintaining website performance, security, and availability. Working closely with the marketing team, you'll develop and optimise websites, resolve technical issues, and provide ongoing website support across multiple brands.
Responsibilities as a Website Developer
Website Development & Maintenance
• Build and update responsive websites, landing pages, and web forms.
• Manage CMS themes, plugins, integrations, updates, backups, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor website uptime and resolve technical issues across approximately 70 websites.
• Support the Guesty website migration and associated digital transformation activities.
• Assist with resolving critical website issues to ensure business continuity.
• Build, update, and optimise responsive websites, landing pages, and web forms.
Optimisation, SEO & GEO
• Improve page speed, usability, accessibility, conversion performance, and mobile responsiveness.
• Apply technical SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) best practices.
• Use analytics and performance data to recommend and implement improvements.
Helpdesk & Stakeholder Support
• Provide technical support for approximately 70 websites across 35 trading brands throughout Australia and New Zealand.
• Respond promptly to website issues and prioritise critical incidents.
• Communicate effectively with marketing stakeholders and provide timely progress updates.
Qualifications as a Website Developer would be:
Experience & Technical Skills
• 3–4 years of professional website development experience.
• Strong experience with WordPress or similar CMS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience managing website maintenance, plugins, themes, hosting, and DNS.
• Experience building landing pages and web forms.
• Good understanding of SEO, GEO, website security, and performance optimisation.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced project environment.
Deliverables and Success Metrics
• Websites remain stable, secure, current, and available with minimal downtime.
• Helpdesk requests and critical issues are resolved within agreed timelines.
• Measurable improvements in website speed, search visibility, usability, and conversion performance.
