SUMMARY
Integrate Hospice program and service goals and objectives, resulting in the "seamless" provision of post-acute services to each Region’s marketplace as organic and acquisition growth occurs. Facilitate Regional Hospice operations through appropriate departmentalization and delegation of duties per the approved organizational structure. Serves as the Administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services
• Ensure organizational compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Manage fiscal planning and budgeting
• Recruit, employ, and retain qualified personnel
• Establish and maintain effective channels of communication, including integrations of technology, as applicable
• Ensure program personnel have current clinical information and current practices
• Plan, direct, and evaluate the quality assured, clinically excellent, compliant, cost-effective, and consumer-satisfied operations of Regional Hospice operations
• Charge and hold accountable Regional leadership with continuous, collaborative teamwork that supports quality assured, clinically excellent, compliant, cost-effective, and consumer-satisfied operations within each Region
• Develop and holds accountable an effective Regional leadership level that manages each Region’s clinical service, fiscal management, business development, and human resource operations
• Participate in the identification and development of new and/or revised Hospice programs/services and ensure their implementation in order to maintain and enhance current and future state market share
• Direct the execution of the company’s strategies to promote growth, viability, and service integration within the marketplace
• Develop, communicate, and monitor the Hospice annual strategic and operational planning, operating, and capital budgets
• Utilize statistical and cost data for operational decisions
• Report on variances and progressive and measurable corrective action planning
• Direct changes to affect continual fiscal efficiencies
• Ensure that the Regional implementation of Hospice-related policies are consistent with corporate policy
• Provide oversight regarding policy questions and exceptions to policy and make recommendations to the CEO
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships within all levels of leadership
• Work collaboratively as a member of senior leadership to integrate and support overall operations and strategies
• Maintain responsibility for keeping current with market trends, anticipated federal and state regulatory changes, and reimbursement in order to develop plans and design systems to promote growth and financial success and to ensure compliance with all standards
• Seek opportunities to interact with staff and leaders by maintaining high visibility within each Region
• Represent Allegheny Health Network Healthcare@Home at appropriate local, county, state, and national conferences and meetings

ADMINISTRATOR DUTIES:
• Organize and direct Hospice ongoing day-to-day operations
• Ensure Administrator or designee is available during all operating hours for patient service delivery needs or personnel needs
• Ensure that a clinical Manager is available during all operating hours
• Maintain ongoing liaison among owner and personnel
• Employ qualified personnel and ensure the development of personnel qualifications and policies
• Ensure adequate personnel education and evaluation
• Ensure the accuracy of public information materials and activities
• Implement an effective budgeting and accounting system
• In the Administrators absence, a qualified pre-designated person, who is authorized in writing by the Administrator and the governing body, assumes the same responsibilities and obligations as the Administrator; the pre-designated person may be the Clinical Manager

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years in hospice care as an RN
• Proven progressive advancement and leadership in Medicare-certified home health agency
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state in which you work
• In-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations and procedures
• Able to speak and write clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Demonstrate effective leadership ability
• Effectively communicate in writing and verbally
• Demonstrate good decision-making skills as well as ability to think critically and problem solve, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathering and analyzing information skillfully
• Able to use good and sound clinical judgment, making decisions in a timely manner
• Work well in a team environment
• Detail oriented
• Able to maintain confidential information
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have and maintain in good standing professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable.
