The Vice President of Data Management and Mortgage Systems is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining and executing the technology vision for the organization's mortgage platform ecosystem. This role oversees the development, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of mortgage technology solutions across the loan lifecycle, including customer-facing loan point-of-sale (POS) platforms, loan origination systems (LOS), data and analytics platforms, and emerging AI-powered capabilities.
The VP of Data Management and Mortgage Systems will lead a team of technology professionals, drive digital transformation initiatives, modernize enterprise data architecture, and partner closely with business stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth.
This position requires a blend of mortgage industry expertise, technology leadership, data modernization experience, AI innovation, and strong people management capabilities.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Mortgage Technology Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for mortgage technology platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and growth strategies.
Serve as the senior technology leader for mortgage operations, sales, fulfillment, servicing integrations, and customer experience platforms.
Partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational excellence.
Establish technology governance, architecture standards, and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
Develop and manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and strategic partnerships.
Loan Point-of-Sale (POS) Platforms Ownership
Lead the ongoing administration, enhancement, and optimization of mortgage loan point-of-sale platforms.
Drive improvements in borrower and loan officer experiences through digital self-service capabilities, workflow automation, and customer journey enhancements.
Partner with sales, operations, compliance, and marketing teams to identify and prioritize POS enhancements.
Ensure seamless integration between POS solutions and downstream mortgage systems.
Oversee release planning, testing, implementation, and production support for all POS-related initiatives.
Loan Origination System (LOS) Leadership
Lead LOS modernization efforts to improve loan processing efficiency, quality, compliance, and scalability.
Collaborate with mortgage operations and business stakeholders to streamline workflows and automate manual processes.
Oversee integrations with underwriting, pricing, document management, servicing, CRM, compliance, and third-party vendor platforms.
Ensure LOS platforms support regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and evolving business needs.
Data Platform Modernization & Analytics
Lead the enterprise mortgage data strategy and modernization roadmap.
Drive the transformation of legacy SQL-based data environments into a modern cloud-native data platform leveraging Snowflake.
Establish scalable data architecture, governance frameworks, data quality standards, and metadata management practices.
Oversee data migration initiatives, ensuring minimal business disruption and strong data integrity throughout the transition.
Enable enterprise reporting, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and self-service data capabilities.
Partner with business and data teams to create a single source of truth for mortgage operational, financial, and customer data.
Promote adoption of modern data engineering, ELT/ETL, data observability, and data governance practices.
Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation
Define and execute the enterprise strategy for Agentic AI solutions across mortgage operations and corporate functions.
Identify opportunities to leverage autonomous AI agents to improve productivity, customer experience, decision support, and operational efficiency.
Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions for loan origination, underwriting support, customer engagement, document processing, quality control, compliance monitoring, and employee productivity.
Establish governance, security, risk management, and ethical AI standards for enterprise adoption.
Collaborate with business leaders to prioritize AI use cases and measure business outcomes.
Build a roadmap for integrating generative AI, intelligent workflow automation, machine learning, and agent-based systems into core business processes.
Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation while ensuring responsible AI implementation.
Technology Delivery & Operations
Oversee application development, systems integration, platform support, release management, and production operations.
Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of all mortgage technology platforms.
Implement modern software development practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, and platform engineering.
Establish service level objectives (SLOs), operational metrics, and performance monitoring processes.
Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
People Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technology managers, engineers, architects, analysts, and support professionals.
Establish clear performance expectations, career development plans, and succession strategies.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Recruit, retain, and develop top technology talent to support business growth and transformation objectives.
Provide coaching and leadership development for direct reports and emerging leaders.
Promote cross-functional collaboration and alignment across technology, operations, data, and business teams.

Qualifications
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior leadership roles within mortgage banking, financial services, or fintech organizations.
Deep expertise with mortgage loan origination systems (LOS), loan point-of-sale (POS) platforms, and mortgage operations.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
Proven experience modernizing enterprise data platforms and migrating legacy SQL environments to Snowflake.
Experience implementing cloud-based architectures, data platforms, and enterprise integration solutions.
Experience leading software development, enterprise applications, and technology operations teams.
Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing technical teams.
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
