Position Overview 

The VP, Associate Creative Director, Copy is a senior creative leader responsible for helping drive agency growth through new business development, strategic storytelling, and high-impact pitch leadership. This individual serves as a key creative partner in identifying, shaping, and winning new opportunities by developing compelling narratives, differentiated agency positioning, and persuasive presentations that showcase BGB's strategic and creative capabilities. 

Success in this role requires the ability to wear multiple hats and orchestrate multiple workstreams within each pitch opportunity. Beyond developing compelling narratives and creative concepts, this individual will help drive the end-to-end pitch process, partnering across departments to brief teams, manage timelines, facilitate creative reviews, build stakeholder alignment, and ensure seamless execution. Strong entrepreneurial instincts, organizational excellence, and the ability to bring people together around a shared vision are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the creative development of new business opportunities, including pitch strategy, messaging, concept development, and presentation creation.
  • Partner closely with agency leadership, Strategy, Account, andMedicalteams to identify and pursue growth opportunities across existing and prospective clients. 
  • Develop compelling narratives and agency positioning that effectively communicate BGB's value proposition, capabilities, and strategic thinking.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple workstreams within each pitch opportunity, including briefing cross-functional teams, managing timelines,facilitatingcreative reviews, driving stakeholder alignment, and ensuring all contributors remain focused on a unified strategic and creative vision. 
  • Build consensus across Creative, Strategy, Medical, Account, Business Development, and Executive Leadership teams, ensuring all contributorsremainaligned against a shared vision and business objective. 
  • Demonstratestrong entrepreneurial ownership of opportunities, proactively identifying needs, removing obstacles, and driving projects forward from initial pursuit through final presentation. 
  • Serve as a confident and polished presenter in client meetings, pitch presentations, workshops, and agency marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all pitch materials and business development deliverables are exceptionally buttoned-up,accurate, strategically sound, and visually cohesive.
  • Maintainexceptionally high standards of execution across all deliverables, ensuring presentations, narratives, and supporting materials are modern, visually refined, and fully production-ready for client-facing environments. 
  • Demonstratea deep understanding of healthcare communications, therapeutic area dynamics, industry trends, and client business challenges. 
  • Translate complex scientific, clinical, and commercial information into persuasive and engaging stories tailored to client needs.
  • Act as a senior creative advisor throughout the business development process, helping shape solutions that align with clientobjectivesand agency strengths. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionallywith Medical, Strategy, Account, Creative, and Executive Leadership teams to develop integrated recommendations and growth strategies.
  • Contribute to agency thought leadership initiatives, marketing efforts, and strategic planning activities designed to elevate BGB's profile and market presence.
  • During periods of lower new business activity, partner with brand teams on high-touch creative assignments, brand development initiatives, messaging platforms, campaign concepting, and other strategic creative opportunities.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level creative team members, helping foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Exceptional storytelling, conceptual thinking, and writing abilities.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior clients and agency leadership.
  • Strong executive presence and comfortrepresentingthe agency in high-stakes situations. 
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare communications landscape, including pharmaceutical marketing, scientific communications, and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished, high-quality work.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability toidentifyopportunities, solve problems, and connect creative thinking to business objectives. 
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary workstreams within high-stakes pitch opportunities while balancing competing priorities, stakeholder expectations, and aggressive deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional project leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of modern presentation design, storytelling, and client-facing communications, with a commitment to flawless execution and craftsmanship.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, andsolutions-oriented approach to leadership and teamwork.

Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare communications, pharmaceutical advertising, ora relatedfield. 
  • Demonstratedsuccess leading or contributing significantly to new business pitches, agency growth initiatives, and client presentations. 
  • Experience developing strategic narratives and creative concepts for complex healthcare brands and organizations.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Strategy, Medical, Account, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Experience supporting product launches, including high-science and specialty products, preferred.
  • Global experience a plus.

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

Salary Range: $170,000 - $230,000

BGB Group is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States. For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee’s primary work location. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
