The Video Designer is responsible for conceiving and producing motion graphics, animations, and edited video content for brand and marketing initiatives. They will manage projects from storyboard through to final polish, ensuring alignment with brand standards and stakeholder feedback.

The Video Designer is primarily responsible for conceiving and producing motion graphics and animation for brand and marketing initiatives, with a secondary focus on editing live-action video footage.
Concept and produce motion graphics and animation for brand and campaign initiatives, from storyboard through finished, polished pieces
Take a creative brief and run with it, applying proven motion design expertise to deliver a polished video, refined through stakeholder feedback
Produce short-form motion graphics and animated content for social media
Create animated product explainer videos that make technical or complex ideas easy to follow for a range of audiences
Design and animate digital signage content for company events and trade shows
Edit live-action video footage for customer testimonials, event recaps, hype videos, social cutdowns and product clips
Prepare assets for multiple formats and platforms
Motion Design (Primary)
Proficiency in After Effects
Good animation fundamentals – timing, easing, composition, rhythm
Storyboard creation
Building animated explainers from scripts or outlines
Experience with 3D motion graphics and animation is a plus
Apply typography and motion elements to live-action edits for a cohesive, on-brand look
Video Editing (Secondary but strong)
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Comfortable cutting interviews, testimonials, and other video sequences
Good sense of narrative flow, clarity, and pacing
Ability to assemble complete videos using motion, footage, and graphics
Ability to accurately transcript and subtitle videos.
Support live-action shoots in a hands-on capacity
Incorporate voiceover, music, and subtle sound design into edited pieces
Design Foundations
Apply Hyland’s brand language across new and existing projects
Good foundation in typography, composition, and visual storytelling across both motion and live-action deliverables
Basic illustration/vector skills, able to create simple custom iconography or graphic elements from a script or storyboard
Working knowledge of sound design principles including pacing, music selection, and mixing
Clear communicator who can guide stakeholders through creative rationale and incorporate feedback efficiently
Bachelor's degree in Motion Design, Animation, Graphic Design, Film, or equivalent practical experience
Portfolio that demonstrations strong experience creating 2D motion graphics, animation, and competent video editing
Experience with 3D motion graphics/animation tools (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender) is a plus
Experience working within structured brand systems
