You will plan, shoot, and edit video content while managing the creative asset pipeline and a team of freelance producers. The role involves directing remote capture sessions with travelers and hosts to create compelling, on-brand storytelling assets.
At Worldpackers, we believe that travel can transform people - and transformed people can transform the world. ✨
Since 2014, we’ve been building a global community of conscious travelers and welcoming hosts, enabling meaningful connections and thousands of collaborative experiences around the world.
Our purpose is rooted in connection. We exist to foster personal growth, cultural exchange, and a more socially and environmentally sustainable world through travel.
Respect, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning guide everything we do. Being part of Worldpackers — as a traveler, host, or team member — means being part of a diverse, global community where different perspectives are valued and discriminatory behavior has no place.
Being part of Worldpackers means working with purpose - helping more people experience transformative journeys through connection.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us and help create unforgettable collaborative experiences around the world. 🌎
Worldpackers has no shortage of raw material — travelers, hosts, and creators generate a constant stream of footage every month. What we're missing is someone whose job is to turn that raw material into stories people actually want to watch.
That's this role. You'll shoot and edit, turn traveler and host footage into content that holds attention, and own the creative asset pipeline that our Social, Paid Media, and CRM teams all draw from. You'll also run the day-to-day of our freelance production pool — currently three videomakers and a designer — briefing them, holding the quality bar, and keeping the Brand & Community Lead in the loop on who's delivering.
Because this is a remote-first role, a large part of the job is directing capture from a distance: building shot lists and capture briefs that hosts, travelers, and creators can execute on their own phones, then turning what comes back into a real story. You'll also travel occasionally for Epic Trips launches and priority host shoots, but directing remote capture well is the core skill here — not a fallback.
Storytelling & Production
Plan, shoot, and edit video content that captures real traveler and host stories — trip recaps, testimonials, day-in-the-life content.
Lead video production for Epic Trips launch campaigns, turning creator and influencer concepts into finished, on-brand assets.
Direct remote capture end to end — briefs, shot lists, light direction — then edit the results into something people finish watching.
Raise the storytelling floor on incoming UGC: structure, pacing, hook, and narrative arc.
Travel occasionally for on-the-ground capture when a story genuinely calls for it.
Creative Asset Systems
Build and maintain a reusable creative asset library — templates, brand kit components, motion graphics — so other teams aren't reinventing visuals per channel.
Produce channel-specific cuts from the same source footage: vertical for social, longer-form for YouTube and web, trims for paid and lifecycle.
Keep the library current and genuinely usable as the brand system evolves.
Freelancer Management & Pipeline
Own the asset pipeline end to end: brief in, production, review, final delivery.
Source, brief, and manage video and creative freelancers day to day against deadlines and quality bar.
Recommend roster changes, flag bottlenecks early, and set the execution quality standard for everything that goes out with our name on it.
Collaboration
Partner with our Social Media Managers and Copywriter so visuals, copy, and format land as one piece of content.
Take creative direction from the Brand & Community Lead on tone, pacing, and visual identity.
Support Growth & Performance Marketing and other teams, with priorities sequenced through the Lead.
3–5 years as a video editor/producer or content creator, with a storytelling-first portfolio — not just polished corporate video.
Strong in both shooting and editing, and genuinely comfortable directing real people, not just cutting existing footage.
Proven track record directing capture remotely — briefing non-professionals to shoot usable footage and building a story out of what comes back.
Proficiency in Premiere Pro or Final Cut, plus working knowledge of Photoshop/Figma and basic motion graphics.
Experience briefing and managing freelance or contractor creative talent, with a sharp eye for consistent quality.
Fluent English, written and verbal — this is non-negotiable.
Proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely energized by travel and human connection.
Availability to travel.
Experience producing UGC-style or creator-led content for travel, hospitality, or community brands.
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
Experience building a reusable asset or template library that other teams actually adopted.
A personal portfolio that shows narrative storytelling, not just production value.
