Position Title: Vice President, Product Management – Digital Commerce
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Product Management leads the strategy, vision, and performance of the company’s ecommerce and digital product portfolio. Reporting to the CIO, this role partners cross-functionally to drive revenue growth, customer retention, and operational excellence through scalable digital solutions. This is a high-ownership position suited for a builder with a proven track record of launching and scaling products. The ideal candidate combines data-driven decision-making with strong executive communication to deliver impactful business outcomes.
Essential Functions:
- Develop market opportunity assessments, total addressable market analysis, and digital investment business cases to support executive decision-making
- Establish and lead a formal Voice of the Customer program that captures customer feedback, usage insights, advisory board input, and market intelligence to influence product strategy and investment decisions.
- Define and implement a formalized governance process to capture, review, prioritize and approve potential product changes
- Build and launch B2B digital platforms, portals, data & system integrations, and APIs, driving customer adoption, and delivering measurable revenue growth.
- Connect product strategy to business outcomes: defining what to build, getting it to market, and making sure customers succeed with it.
- Accountable for the commercial performance of the digital commerce portfolio, including revenue growth, gross profit contribution, customer lifetime value, and return on digital investments.
- Create go-to-market programs from the ground up, and the structures, KPIs, and feedback loops that turn product releases into lasting competitive advantages.
- Responsibility over work capture, user story creation, backlog grooming, backlog prioritization, and sprint management.
- Act as an escalation point for high severity client and IT internal issues that arise from within the IT team, directly from customers, or from other line of business functions
- Actively participate in setting objectives & ensure they are met and communicated across the IT Organization
- Effectively communicate and report operational progress to Business and IT leadership on a regular basis including product release management, work prioritization, sprint management (burndown), and defect management.
- Assist IT executive management in the development and implementation of IT strategic plans, initiatives, direction, and annual budgets
- Ensure customer satisfaction is the priority at all time
- Proactively identify enhancement opportunities to platforms through root cause of support tickets to improve uptime and reduce support costs.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring tools are in place to generate alerts before a customer identifies an issue and that ownership for creating and responding to alerts is clear.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
- A track record of leading or building best-in class technology solutions resulting in measurable business outcomes in terms of sales and/or revenue, customer retention, repeat business, efficiency, data capture, etc.
- Experience leading design and delivery of ecommerce solutions
- Experience leading design and delivery of self-service B2B customer portals
- Experience interacting with data professionals to deliver data conversion & normalization and system integrations
- Experience standing up outward facing APIs
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
- Participation in Customer Advisory Boards
- Demonstrated technical application development or architecture experience (technical background)
- Direct experience partnering with executive-level management and business leadership in successfully launching new products and enhancements to existing products
Education and Experience:
- 15+ years overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years technical experience in Application Development or Enterprise Architecture
- 5+ years of product or technical product management experience, with full-cycle responsibility for enterprise, client-facing platforms.
- 4+ years Executive Leadership background at Senior Director, AVP or VP level in a product management role
- BA / BS in Information Systems, Business or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
