The Vice President, Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics Services will play an integral role in strategic direction, development, and future growth while leading and supporting scientific staff with consulting projects.

 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support the achievement of company objectives through leadership, management, and business development 
  • Help define long-term business strategy for the pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology services offerings 
  • Manage and lead direct reports through day-to-day activities, career planning, and performance management
  • Achieve company goals related to revenue targets and targeted yield through scientific team leadership, supporting the provision of high-quality scientific services, and working in harmony with other functional areas
  • Promote and support high-functioning, multidisciplinary project teams while meeting customer needs and expectations
  • Ensure the use and compliance with appropriate systems, processes, methods, and tools to support efficient and accurate execution of consulting projects
  • Assess staff training needs and develop plans to provide coaching, mentoring, and training 
  • Oversee and consult on scientific aspects of company projects
  • May support assigned projects as a senior scientific consultant 
  • Serve as senior scientific reviewer on project deliverables of the entire department 
  • Act as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for new business development activities related to pharmacometric and clinical pharmacology services, guiding client discussions regarding strategic direction and options for MIDD implementation 
  • Communicate service offerings, software and cross-solution value proposition to clients
  • Regularly participate in new business development presentations, presenting company service offerings to clients and sharing examples of how we might collaborate with new clients
  • Contribute to business development activities through the development of leads into opportunities
  • Promote company products and services to existing and potential clients
  • Inform and further develop strategy for new services project and develop work scopes and budgets for project proposals
  • Help develop marketing strategy for services offerings
  • Understand competitor strengths and weaknesses to maintain a competitive edge and outperform competitors while improving brand health
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Assure integration of functional departments to effectively support the company in its mission and objectives
  • Responsible for content of formal correspondence with clients and regulatory agencies regarding quality-related issues
  • Assist in presenting internal training programs for scientific staff 
  • Visit clients and collaborators to share pharmacometric and clinical pharmacology-related information
  • Give scientific presentations at seminars, conferences, and meetings 
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of processes, solve complex problems, evaluate solutions, and make recommendations
  • Through presentations at scientific conferences, webinars, and social media outreach, maintain and enhance reputation as a key thought leader in model-informed drug development
  • Track time spent on various projects in project management system
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • 20+ years of pharmacometrics related experience preferred
  • 10+ years of Population PK and PK/PD modeling experience preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Highly proficient in Monolix, NONMEM, and R
  • Demonstrated experience successfully implementing model-informed drug development strategies
  • Professional experience in applying Pharmacometrics preferred 
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and motivational skills
  • Great at developing and delivering presentations
  • Maintain positive attitude and growth mindset while interacting with colleagues and clients
  • Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Great organizational skills
  • Possess excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Support key scientific and business deliverables
  • Ability to efficiently develop financial plans and manage resources
  • Strong experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Highly self-motivated and willing to take on challenges
  • Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Some travel required for meetings, trainings, and conferences

Education: 

  • PhD in pharmacometrics, PK/PD, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, engineering, or related field preferred
