AI Summary

The Utility Development Manager will identify and secure power capacity for data center sites by building relationships with utility providers and managing service requests. They will also map market opportunities and translate utility constraints into actionable data for the site intelligence platform.

About Mavria

America invented artificial intelligence. Now we have to industrialize it.

AI runs on power, data centers, factories, equipment, supply chains, skilled labor, and the communities that host all of it. That physical layer now sets the limit on how far and how fast AI can scale, and whoever builds it fastest will lead the next industrial era.

Mavria is a strategic infrastructure company built for the intelligence age. We turn bottlenecks into products and systems we can build again and again, starting with Terrain, our manufactured data center platform. We move fast, and we believe infrastructure should leave the places that host it stronger.

We hire people who want to build the physical foundation of the AI era. If that is you, apply.

How we build

  • Reality wins. Physics, equipment, contracts, and schedules don't care about our narrative. Start with what is actually true. Surface bad news early. Never manufacture certainty.

  • Own the bottleneck. Find the thing slowing everyone down and make it yours until it's gone, whether or not it's in your job description.

  • Speed compounds. Fast once is heroics. Fast every time is a system. Make every project leave behind a better standard, supplier, process, or playbook for the next one.

  • Earn the megawatt. Earn the power and trust our projects require by leaving every community stronger than we found it.

  • Industrial patriotism. Build American industrial capacity. Strengthen the factories, suppliers, skilled trades, and infrastructure the country needs to win.

Role scope

  • Find real power. Identify the utilities, substations, and load pockets that can deliver 5 to 25 MW to a Mavria site on a timeline that matters, and separate deliverable capacity from theoretical capacity.

  • Open doors at utilities. Build relationships with utility economic development teams, key accounts and large-load teams, distribution planners, and co-op and municipal leadership.

  • Map the market. Build and maintain our view of which utilities are receptive to our model, including tariffs, large-load processes, upgrade timelines, data availability, and decision makers.

  • Turn conversations into data. Capture capacity, constraints, tariffs, and timelines in a structured form that feeds our site intelligence platform.

  • Produce qualified power opportunities. Pair utility-supported capacity with sites, working alongside site acquisition and engineering, so every opportunity is ready to take to a customer.

  • Move service requests forward. Prepare and track large-load service requests, load studies, and utility agreements through to an energization commitment.

What we're looking for

Treat this list as a guide. Great people rarely check every box, so if you see yourself in most of it, apply and tell us what you would bring to the role.

  • Houston preferred. We will consider remote candidates in the US who can travel frequently.

  • You have 3+ years at a utility in economic development, key accounts, large-load service, or distribution planning, or in energy or data center development with heavy utility interface.

  • You can walk us through how a utility evaluates a new 10 to 25 MW load, from first call to energization.

  • You speak the language: MW and MVA, substations, feeders, transformer loading, tariffs, demand charges, line extensions, and CIAC.

  • You are comfortable cold-calling utilities and running your own outreach.

  • You turn messy conversations into structured, useful information.

  • Bonus: Co-op, municipal, or public power experience. Data center site selection or power procurement. Battery storage or renewables development with a strong utility interface. Experience in ERCOT, MISO, SPP, or PJM territories.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance is 100% paid for the employee

  • Retirement Plan with a 3.5% company match

  • Flexible time off

We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The range shown is the expected base salary; individual offers depend on experience, skills, and location.
