Job Summary:
This position requires in-depth knowledge of insurance end to end understanding of US Indirect Tax processes includes. The role requires critical thinking, hands on experience with admin systems and in-depth knowledge of advanced excel.
Key Accountabilities:
Review of annual premium tax returns, estimates and other miscellaneous filings for US based entities.
Review of monthly reconciliations and journal entries
Performing a review of filings prepared by other team members for accuracy, completeness and technical proficiency.
E filings of returns via OPTins and making the required payment to the state authority.
Performing transaction testing for five different types of transactions – New Business, Renewal, Reinstatement, Cancellation and Endorsement, while using required applications.
Preparing federal and state workpapers for tax returns and extensions with the primary data provided by client.
Preparation of federal, state and local tax returns including extensions for US based Partnerships, Corporations, and S. Corporation using software's like Go System, OneSource etc.
Creating e-file XMLs of returns on platforms/software/applications approved by Internal Revenue Services (IRS).
Perform Research on the open items and resolve them in timely manner.
Assist team to prepare internal reports, provide support in Audits and report deficiencies to offshore team.
Provide support to onshore team with tax audits as they arise
Co-ordinate within the team for training, resolving complex issues, seeking advice etc.
