We are looking for a Transportation Manager (Remote). The position reports to the General Manager. The salary is $150,000-$160,000

Job Summary

Supervises day-to-day transportation functions to ensure performance, customer satisfaction, and that Department and Company objectives for efficiency, reliability and productivity are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Review retail compliance guides and create SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Maintain and manage various Order Logs
  • Manage Outbound Order volume and carriers including pick-ups for small parcel/LTL/TL carriers
  • Schedule and work with Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, DHL and other carriers
  • Manage escalations for carriers and clients 
  • Audit clerical data entry and create mechanisms to balance workflow
  • Discovering and developing talent
  • Creating SOPs on internal processes
  • Manage inventory transfers/moves
  • Oversight of daily billing functions
  • Updating transportation spreadsheets for routing and billing (high velocity skus / trading partners, hazmat calculations, supply tracking, and identifying and capturing month end accrual for next month
  • Detailed logs and reporting of billable functions
  • Implementing changes to create efficiency
  • Staying up to date on latest hazmat certifications
  • Filling out commercial invoices and slips
  • Supervise and manage a team 

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Relevant safety policies, practices, and procedures 
  • Storage and shipment  
  • Material handling 
  • Inventory control concepts and techniques 
  • Dispatching practices
  • Barcoding 
  • Company computer systems 
  • Warehouse racking systems/processes 
  • Supervisory concepts and techniques 
  • Relevant regulatory procedures and standards (OSHA, Retail Compliance)
  • Retailer Portal data entry and requirements

Skilled In:

 

  • Leading a diverse workforce 
  • Supervising and motivating associates in a team-based environment
  • Interpreting warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
  • Working effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service

 

Ability To:

  • Pivot at a moment’s notice
  • Implement changes to create efficiency
  • Stay up to date on latest hazmat certifications

 

Selective Preference:

 

The ideal candidate will have an AA degree from a vocational, technical or junior college preferred; forklift instructor certification; 3-6 years of relevant work experience
