The Role and the Team
 
The Transfer Agency Business Consultant/SME is responsible for providing deep market and operational expertise to support the successful implementation and re-platforming of Transfer Agency services. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert who will act as the bridge between clients, business stakeholders, and delivery teams. 
 
The SME gathers and validates UK-specific business requirements, advises clients on industry’s best practices, and works with clients to design and implement target operating models that align with common practice and UK market expectations. The SME also supports data migration activities to ensure a smooth transition to the new operating environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and own the definition and implementation of UK TA functional operating models within the new platform, aligned with industry-standard expectations across ACD's, managers and distributors.
  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements gathering sessions with clients and stakeholders to understand UK Transfer Agency business processes, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
  • Analyse current-state operating models and define target-state processes aligned with platform capabilities and industry best practices.
  • Advise clients on the optimal use of the system to support UK Transfer Agency functions, including investor servicing, dealing, settlement, distributions, ISA processing, AML/KYC, reporting, and corporate actions.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs for implementation teams.
  • Act as the primary UK TA subject matter expert throughout implementation and migration program.
  • Guide clients through process harmonization and adoption of standard platform functionality while identifying necessary configuration requirements.
  • Collaborate with product, implementation, and testing teams to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.
  • Support the client during the gap analysis between legacy and target platform capabilities.
  • Define and validate data migration requirements, mapping rules, reconciliation processes, and data quality controls.
  • Support migration rehearsals, user acceptance testing (UAT), operational readiness activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Identify implementation risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to ensure successful program execution.
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer, and change management support to client teams.
 
Success Measures
  • Accurate capture and validation of UK business requirements.
    Successful implementation of UK TA functional models within the platform.
  • High client adoption and satisfaction.
    Smooth migration of investor and operational data with minimal disruption.
  • Successful completion of re-platforming initiatives within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
  • Extensive experience within UK Transfer Agency operations, platform implementations, or Transfer Agency consulting.
  • Strong understanding of UK fund administration and investor servicing processes.
  • Proven experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Demonstrated success supporting system implementations, conversions, or re-platforming programmes.
  • Experience with data migration, reconciliation, and operational transition activities.
  • Strong client-facing consulting and stakeholder management experience.
Technical skills
  • Expertise in UK Transfer Agency business processes and operating models.
  • Strong business analysis and requirements documentation capabilities.
  • Experience with functional solution design and process mapping.
  • Understanding data migration principles, reconciliation processes, and data quality controls.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory and market practices impacting Transfer Agency operations.
  • Knowledge in Multifonds Transfer Agency platform (MFGI) would be a strong advantage.
Soft skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional global teams.
Languages: Excellent English communication skills for global stakeholder interaction; Any European language would be considered an asset
Global Operations: Ability to work across global time zones when required
