ABOUT LEADING EDGE

Leading Edge is elevating the people who power Jewish life. We define and raise the standard for talent, culture, and leadership across the Jewish nonprofit field, working with professionals, executives, and board leaders to build stronger organizations and drive our community forward. Behind every thriving Jewish nonprofit are the people who show up for a mission larger than themselves, and Leading Edge exists to invest in them.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

The stories Leading Edge tells shape how our field understands its own potential, and social media is where much of that story reaches people first. The Social Media Copywriter will support Leading Edge's communications team by producing polished, on-brand copy that extends the reach of our research, programs, and field-defining ideas to the professionals, executives, and board leaders who make up our community.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

This role will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, and will play a key part in bringing Leading Edge's voice to Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, translating our work into warm and confident content that promotes a sense of belonging.

•    Plan, write, design, and schedule two to three organic and sponsored social media posts each week, promoting Leading Edge programs, initiatives, research, and announcements across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, in alignment with our brand voice and content calendar.

•    Identify social-friendly clips from long-form video content and write captions for staggered publication, producing one to two reels or video clips each month.

•    Develop and maintain an integrated social media content calendar aligned with campaigns, research releases, events, and key organizational moments.

•   Partner with the Senior Communications Associate to plan, launch, and manage paid social media campaigns on LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite, including audience targeting, budget pacing, ad creative and copy, A/B testing, and ongoing optimization.

•    Respond to comments and messages in a voice consistent with Leading Edge's tone.

•    Monitor social media trends, tools, and platform changes, and recommend adjustments to keep Leading Edge's presence current.

•    Produce monthly quantitative and qualitative reports on social content performance.

•    Coordinate with the communications team on priorities, deadlines, and revisions, and be available during core hours (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET).

Leading Edge provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, alienage or citizenship status, creed, genetic predisposition or carrier status, national origin, disability condition, marital status, status as a disabled or Vietnam era veteran, or any other protected characteristic as established by law. We deeply value the diversity of insight, perspective, and experience brought by people from backgrounds typically underrepresented in Jewish organizations. This includes Black, Hispanic/Latina/Latino/Latinx, and Asian people, Black Jews, Jews of Color, Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities. We also welcome applications from people of diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds. In addition, the organization affirmatively seeks to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity as it applies to all policies and procedures relating to recruitment and hiring, compensation, benefits, termination, and all other terms and conditions of employment.

•    Highly organized and self-directed. You manage your own time effectively, work independently, and consistently deliver strong work on deadline.

•    Comfortable collaborating with a small, growing communications team while owning your own workflow.

•    Open to using AI tools thoughtfully to support your workflow and adapt to evolving needs.

You should have:

•    A pluralistic and inclusive approach to communications, attentive to the diversity of perspectives across the Jewish nonprofit field.
