POSITION SUMMARY
The GI EMR Integration Project Manager is a temporary, six-month role responsible for leading the Gastroenterology division's Athena EMR integration. The position will establish and manage the project plan, coordinate Clinical Applications and Operations, maintain accountability across workstreams, and provide clear reporting to leadership. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

 

What you will be doing

• Create and maintain a comprehensive project plan that defines scope, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, owners, and deadlines.
• Translate organizational and leadership priorities into actionable workplans with clear ownership, timelines, and expected outcomes.
• Serve as the primary coordination point between Clinical Applications and Operations and promote timely decision-making across all workstreams.
• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and follow up with owners to ensure commitments are completed on schedule.
• Track project deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and open issues; identify risks early and escalate barriers requiring leadership support.
• Develop and drive corrective action plans when workstreams fall behind schedule or project risks threaten successful implementation.
• Prepare and distribute concise weekly status reports summarizing progress, upcoming milestones, decisions needed, risks, and action items.
• Provide regular project updates and reporting to executive and operational leadership.
• Support readiness, workflow alignment, testing, training coordination, implementation, and post-go-live stabilization activities as assigned.
• Maintain organized and accurate project documentation, including project plans, meeting notes, decision logs, risk logs, and status reports.

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, project management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years of project management experience required
• Demonstrated project management experience, preferably involving healthcare operations, clinical systems, or EMR implementation and integration.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional workstreams and driving accountability among stakeholders with competing priorities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop detailed workplans, manage deadlines, anticipate risks, escalate issues appropriately, and communicate clearly with leaders and project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management or collaboration tools; experience with Athena is preferred.
