Location:telehealth - NC licensed required or compact license (PSYPACT).
Responsibilities:
Psychiatrist must hold an active North Carolina (NC) medical license or compact license PSYPACT.
The Psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients presenting in the Emergency Department (ED), perform psychiatric admission evaluations, and diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders in an acute care hospital setting.
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications ensuring that treatment plans are effective and adjusted as needed
The psychiatrist will create individualized treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, and other interventions.
Chart audits, peer review, meetings, provider management, etc.
The psychiatrist will maintain up to date medical records, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and standards of care.
Maintain and monitor confidentiality of patients and their files; audit files to determine that all services provided are documented; review status of patients to verify that all treatment and therapeutic programs are completed.
The psychiatrist will work closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and staff to provide integrated and coordinated care.
Provide immediate psychiatric care in crisis situations, such as suicide attempts or acute psychiatric episodes, and work to prevent incidents through proactive mental health management
Endeavor to comply with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards and/or contract.
Qualifications:
Psychiatrist must hold an active North Carolina (NC) medical license.
2 years of inpatient experience (trauma experience required)
Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry
Valid and unrestricted DEA
Must be proficient in using Telemedicine technologies to treat patients remotely
