AI Summary

The Technical Program Manager will lead project teams to meet client expectations while managing budgets, timelines, and delivery execution. They will also facilitate cross-functional partnerships and define project requirements to ensure successful SaaS and platform-based engagements.

Location & Engagement Type

Contract, Remote, U.S Candidates Only.

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (1099), approximately 30 hours per week, for an initial 3-month term.

Please note: Shift anticipates transitioning this role to a full-time, benefits-eligible employee position at the end of the term, based on performance, business need, and mutual fit. Conversion timing may shift and is not guaranteed.

The Role

We are looking for a Contract Technical Program Manager to join our Product & Project Management Operations team (PPMO) and serve as the connective tissue between client needs and delivery execution. You will support SaaS and platform-based engagements across tools like Adobe Experience Cloud and Salesforce.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Client delivery: Support critical migration and development projects on active client engagements. You’re responsible for leading project teams to meet client expectations while managing budget and timeline.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Work alongside engineering leads, business operations strategy, and client partners to align on delivery approach, flag risks early, and drive resolution on personnel and process issues that cross team lines.
  • Scoping and discovery: Support discovery sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to define requirements, write assumptions to protect the scope, translate needs into actionable scopes of work, and develop SOWs that protect both client outcomes and margin.

What You Bring

  • Experience leading delivery in a consultancy or agency context (required). You understand what it means to lead multiple client engagements concurrently, scope billable work, manage client expectations, support roadmap expansion, and protect margin.
  • Project Management fluency. You communicate clearly and consistently, fostering organization, transparency and trust internally and with clients. You can provide leadership and direction to project teams, balancing resource availability, positive team culture, deadlines, client priorities, and margins.
  • A background that spans both PM and PO. You are not locked into one methodology. You run projects, manage backlogs, and write requirements. You adapt the approach to the work, not the other way around, and take full ownership of your clients projects.
  • Platform and SaaS delivery experience. You have led or supported website builds, migrations and feature development, as well as implementations on platforms like Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce, or comparable enterprise SaaS environments. You do not need to be a technical expert, but you need to speak the language and understand how these engagements are structured.
  • Web and software experience. You can translate business and technical requirements into detailed functional specifications and well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization, refinement, and trade-off decisions to balance scope, timeline, and budget.

Engagement Terms

  • Classification: Independent contractor, engaged directly by SH/FT for the duration of the initial term. You will be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and benefits during this phase, and will invoice SH/FT on an agreed schedule.
  • Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week. The schedule is flexible but should overlap with core US business hours to support client and team collaboration.
  • Term: Initial 3-month engagement.
  • Location eligibility: Must be based in and authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the contractor phase.

Why SH/FT

We are a consultancy built for transformation. We bridge the gap between marketing, data, and technology to unlock growth for some of the world’s most recognized brands. At SH/FT you’ll shape the future of how organizations connect with their customers through intelligent architecture, scalable systems, and the power of data-driven strategy.

Compensation

Compensation during the initial 3-month contract engagement is hourly, in the range of approximately $75.00 - $85.00 per hour. Actual rate is based on skillset, relevant education, certifications, level of experience and scope of responsibilities.
