About the role

Uplinq is seeking a sharp, strategic, and experienced Tax Strategy Advisor & Preparer to join our growing tax team. You’ll apply your expertise in flow‑through entities, corporate and nonprofit tax planning, and advisory mindset to navigate clients proactively through complex tax issues. This is not a back‑office compliance role—we want someone who thinks like a founder and acts like a partner.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and review a wide range of business and individual tax returns (S corps, partnerships, C corps, trusts, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals)
  • Deliver proactive tax strategies, tailored planning, and technical guidance across client accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in client books and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Lead and manage client engagements from initial scoping through final delivery.
  • Conduct technical research and prepare documentation to support tax positions.
  • Review and finalize summaries prepared by admin staff.
  • Contribute to internal systems, planning templates, and workflow improvements.
  • Partner with the sales team to identify and close opportunities for expanded tax strategy services.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • CPA or EA required (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 6–10 years of tax experience with expertise in flow-through entities, nonprofits, corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Proven ability to lead strategy, implement plans, and review complex returns.
  • Experience as a Tax Manager or Senior Associate with review responsibilities.
  • Strong research and documentation skills for complex tax issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present and upsell strategies.
  • Proficient in CCH Access, QuickBooks Online, Adobe, and tax research tools.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
