Responsibilities

As a System Engineer I, you will assist the Subject Matter Expert and Cybersecurity Engineers with the Engineering and Analysis solution of Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS). Managing the data repository via Excel, Power BI, and other Army approved tool sets. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Empower AI’s mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments. Must be able to obtain Secret government clearance.

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the development and implementation of data management solutions via the use of Power BI, Excel, and other Army approved tools.
  • Assist Cybersecurity Engineer’s with data research, data analysis, and data management of commercial Operational Technologies (OT), ICS, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) devices and solutions.
  • Conduct vendor outreach through the vendor company’s website, email, and phone, and coordinate meetings via Microsoft Team’s.
  • Clearly and professionally report in written summary key responsibilities and tasks completed daily / weekly as required for government deliverables
  • Collaborate closely and follow guidance from SME and Cybersecurity Engineers.
  • Working under close supervision, performs a variety of relatively routine project tasks applied to specialized technology problems (e.g. logic design, circuit design, I/O design, firmware development, computer architecture analysis and design, network structure design, etc.)
  • May be responsible for program coding, testing, debugging and documentation
  • Analyzes user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architecture to develop system requirement specifications
  • Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches and conducts feasibility studies
  • Typical assignments may involve integration of software, systems, and electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or applications
  • Processes may range from simple to moderately complex use of computer or other electronic technology and equipment
  • Edit and process cybersecurity deliverables, including RMF packages and associated artifacts.
  • Assess DoD Information Systems against the RMF security controls IAW DoDI 8500, DoDI 8510 and NIST SP 800-53
  • Develop and review RMF documentation and artifacts such as Configuration Management Plans, Network Infrastructure Plans, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans, Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), topology diagrams and all supporting policies in support of RMF A&A activities
  • Interview technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as well as non-technical management personnel to ascertain the security posture of an IT system
  • Evaluate a wide array of IT devices for Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance using ACAS/ Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and manual checklist reviews.
  • Apply STIGs to a variety of devices to ensure compliance
  • Manage eMASS with a strong understanding of the CNSS 1253 CCIs

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

US Citizen with ability to obtain Secret government clearance.

Must be able to acquire CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of hire.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience

0 – 5 years experience
