What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide support to the infrastructure teams in the areas of server administration, system operations, and cloud infrastructure services. This position serves within Information Technology Services (ITS) and reports to the Director of Enterprise IT Architecture and Cloud Infrastructure.
This position is eligible for remote work.
A Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience are preferred.
One year of hands-on experience in two of the following areas: VMware private cloud (vSphere/ESXi, VCF, NSX), Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), Microsoft 365, Windows Server Administration, Linux Server Administration. Experience in multiple areas is preferred, as is hands-on experience managing Microsoft Power Platform.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Assist with maintaining and providing support for individual Linux and Windows servers, as well as the cloud platforms on which they run (private and public); including server and platform configuration, security updates, OS/platform updates, and other routine maintenance.
Help maintain and support both Active Directory and Entra ID
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud technology (private and public)
Work with other infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and identify areas for improvement across the environment
Provide Tier-2 support for faculty, staff and students for Microsoft 365 services; including both user-level support as well as platform-level support
Assist with deploying new server and/or cloud infrastructure to support new systems, upgrades, or re-architecture of existing systems
Identify opportunities to automate existing processes in the creation and management of any systems or platforms
Help provide documentation for new systems and processes, as well as gaps you identify in current documentation
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. The full salary range for this position classification is $61,883.50 - $102,107.70.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
