Proactively partners with Operations to identify at-risk service providers and develop contingencies. Partners with Field Service Provider Specialists as FEC enters into contracts with service provider candidates as well as identifying capacity needs and opportunities. Is expert in, advocates for, and upholds service provider agreements. Serves as a liaison between service providers and internal FEC stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and manages relationships between service providers and internal business partners to support the service provider business model and other business requirements.
  • Oversees that all new initiatives are designed, implemented, monitored and administered consistent with the applicable service provider agreements and other third party vendor agreement(s) within their assigned areas.
  • Engages in dialogue with service providers regarding available technologies and resources and opportunities for enhancing efficiency, productivity, safety, business acumen and compliance.
  • Ensures that Service Provider Solutions (SPS) policies, procedures, and documentation are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis to maintain compliance with service provider agreements and company policies and procedures.
  • Works cross-functionally with Operations to troubleshoot and resolve customer pickup and delivery issues involving contracted service providers.
  • Advocates, leads, and implements enhancements to service provider agreements.
  • Effectively communicates with service providers about strategic initiatives and offers subject matter expertise on the service provider agreements.
  • Oversees SPS-managed systems, ensuring adequate support for internal and external customers.
  • Participates in the design and development of educational programs and materials to enhance FEC understanding of the service provider business model.
  • Leads proactive accountability planning for at-risk contracted service providers as well as planning ahead for contingencies.
  • Performs complete review of contract non-renewal and termination files and actively participates in service provider dispute resolution consistent with the FEC operating agreements.
  • Partners, as requested, with corporate CDAS team on testing system function and applications as intended or designed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or related field required. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years’ progressive experience in operations, vendor management, sales account management or related role working with contracted service providers required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in pickup and delivery operations and/or service provider relationships.
  • Excellent relationship skills including listening and empathy skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen skills and understanding of entrepreneurial businesses.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to FEC employees and service providers.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management as well as service providers of various sizes.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
  • Knowledge of CDAS or ability to work with similar database management systems.
