Our Data Analytics Internship Program offers a dynamic 10-week experience designed to provide undergraduate students with hands-on exposure to enterprise data, analytics, and business intelligence within a leading financial institution. Interns will work alongside data engineers, analytics professionals, and business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Throughout the program, interns will gain practical experience in data visualization, reporting, analytics, data integration, and modern data platforms. Responsibilities may include developing dashboards, analyzing business trends, preparing and transforming data, supporting reporting initiatives, and helping deliver insights that drive measurable business outcomes.

We prioritize your professional growth through mentorship, technical training, and networking opportunities with leaders across the bank. By the end of the program, you will have developed foundational skills in Power BI, SQL, data visualization, data warehousing, business intelligence, and enterprise analytics while gaining experience working with large-scale datasets and real-world business challenges.

Key Program Components

• Onboarding Week: Kick off your internship with orientation, training sessions, networking opportunities, and an introduction to SouthState's data and analytics ecosystem.
• Hands-On Analytics Experience: Work directly with analytics and data teams on real projects that support business decision-making across the organization.
• Mentorship & Support: Receive guidance and coaching from experienced data professionals who will help you build technical and professional skills.
• Speaker Series: Learn from technology, analytics, and business leaders about industry trends, data-driven decision-making, and emerging technologies.
• Networking Opportunities: Build relationships with peers, leaders, and professionals across SouthState while expanding your professional network.

In This Role, You Will

• Participate in internship program activities, including workshops, technical training sessions, and special projects.
• Assist with data analysis, dashboard development, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Create and enhance reports and visualizations using Power BI and related analytics tools.
• Work with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to gather requirements, prepare data, and deliver actionable insights.
• Utilize SQL and enterprise data platforms to analyze information and support data-driven decision-making.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Education: Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

Candidates with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028

preferred. 3.4 GPA preferred.

• Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills required. Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, Streamlit, Python, R, or other data warehousing and visualization tools is preferred.
• Attributes: Curious, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about using data to solve business problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Training Requirements

• Complete mandatory new hire compliance training and New Employee Orientation.

Physical Demands

• Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. The role requires extended time using a computer, which can be accommodated by sitting or standing at an appropriate workstation. Work Environment

This position is a remote work environment for 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), except for Federal Bank Holidays; 40 hours a week.

In accordance with Colorado and Virginia law: Pay for this position is anticipated to be $20 per hour.
