- Establish category margin targets using competitive intelligence, market insights, and financial analysis, replacing inconsistent approaches with a standardized and defensible pricing strategy.
- Identify margin-improvement opportunities across all commercial levers, including price, volume, mix, service levels, payment terms, cross-selling opportunities, and vendor cost improvements.
Pricing Operations & Analytics
- Own the day-to-day operation of the centralized pricing engine, including pricing reviews, recommendation cadence, pricing requests, exception management, and quality assurance.
- Lead analysis of price realization, gross margin performance, discounting behavior, overrides, value leakage, and customer and product profitability.
- Own pricing dashboards, scorecards, KPI reporting, and analytical tools that improve commercial decision-making, speed, accuracy, and pricing discipline.
- Define and enforce pricing guardrails, approval workflows, and exception policies while monitoring adherence and identifying opportunities to reduce margin leakage.
- Build scalable financial and pricing models that support strategic decision-making, forecasting, profitability analysis, and pricing recommendations.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build, lead, and develop a team of pricing analysts, establishing priorities, coaching for growth, and fostering a high-accountability, data-driven culture.
- Establish clear roles, standard operating procedures, governance processes, and documentation to ensure consistent pricing execution across all business units.
- Drive measurable change in pricing behavior by influencing business leaders, sales teams, and stakeholders to adopt standardized, data-driven pricing practices.
- Serve as the business owner and strategic product owner of the in-house pricing engine, partnering with IT, data science, and business leaders to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and continuously improve pricing capabilities.
- Partner closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and business unit leadership to align pricing decisions and ensure consistent execution.
