Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Strategic Claims Consultant to join the ZOOM team remotely or in Atlanta, GA.
The Strategic Claims Consultant will provide claims advocacy, program analysis, and risk services to clients working in conjunction with the Senior Claims Leaders, and the Placement Teams. Claims advocacy for clients requires consultation, pro-activeness and added value to the process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Assists clients in reporting claims to carriers, advises on managing emergency services, and how to begin documenting the claim. Consider and advise the client on any other resources such as restoration firms, engineering consultants, or claim preparation services.
- Assist clients with managing cash flow by advocating for early advance payments and ongoing partial payments as desired by the client.
- Throughout the process anticipate potential issues and communicate to the client and the adjustment team.
- Provide advice and guidance on carrier coverage positions. Advocate for a client in response to any adverse coverage position.
- Manage client claims to bring about timely and fair settlement by appropriate follow-up activities and settlement negotiations.
- Provide input to the Risk Solution placement team on client claims status as requested.
- Provide feedback to the placement team on any identified coverage issues or concerns.
- Develop Service Plans for claims handling based on client needs.
- Support and strengthen the Practice through individual contributions and suggestions, mentoring and coaching of junior team members inside and outside the Practice, and communicating success stories to our internal team and to clients as appropriate.
- Provide assistance and support for new business development/RFPs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, independent adjusters, and vendors for the benefit of our clients.
- Keep current on marketplace changes
- Attend required training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date skills and maintenance of your broker’s license.
- Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree including but not limited to Business and/or Risk Management, and/or 8-10 years of related insurance experience.
- Attend required training sessions and courses and maintain up-to-date skills and maintenance of the appropriate and applicable insurance license(s).
- Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively.
- Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships and function in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to lead/command client and/or market discussions.
- Good listening skills.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including data entry, word processing, and spread sheet applications. Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Pay Range
100000 - 110000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
