We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to work on high-impact projects in a high-growth environment, alongside a world-class remote engineering team spread across 20+ countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the technical direction and roadmap of Core Backend, building shared services, libraries, and developer tools used by engineering teams across Tabby.
  • Identify common challenges across teams and turn them into reusable solutions that improve developer productivity, system reliability, and security.
  • Lead the design and evolution of shared backend capabilities, including event-driven communication, application-level encryption, and sensitive data protection.
  • Develop internal engineering tools such as our Service Catalog, API Registry, SLO platform, and AI-assisted development tools, making them useful and easy to adopt.
  • Drive complex initiatives from problem discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and production validation, coordinating work across engineers and teams.
  • Work closely with teams using our tools to understand their needs, support integrations and migrations, and use feedback to guide further improvements.
  • Stay hands-on with Go, validate performance and failure scenarios, and build observability and recovery mechanisms into systems that other teams depend on.
  • Raise the engineering bar through architecture reviews, clear technical decisions, mentoring, and documentation that enables others to own and extend shared systems.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of backend engineering, including building and operating production systems at scale.
  • Strong Go experience and a track record of staying hands-on in senior technical roles.
  • Deep expertise in distributed, high-load systems. Our stack includes PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, GCP, GitLab and microservices.
  • Proven ownership of complex initiatives from design through production, including architecture and technology decisions with lasting impact.
  • A strong grasp of quality, security, observability and operational excellence.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.
  • The ability to influence decisions across teams and explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across a team or organization.
  • Strong English and a proactive, autonomous approach to ambiguous problems.

What we offer:

  • Full-time B2B contract
  • Fully remote setup
  • Up to 20% tax allowance
  • 22 paid leave days annually
  • Stock options (ESOP) in a fast-scaling, pre-IPO company
  • Flexi benefits you can use for wellness, travel, or learning
  • Work alongside a high-performing, international engineering team in a global fintech unicorn

Relocation support is available to our hubs in Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, Portugal, and Spain, including flights, temporary accommodation and legal setup.
