AI Summary

You will research sophisticated attack techniques and emulate them to improve detection engines across cloud and endpoint environments. Additionally, you will collaborate with threat intelligence and engineering teams to identify security gaps and develop innovative detection strategies.

Our Purpose

At SentinelOne, we are driven by a clear purpose: to give the advantage to those who secure our future. As AI reshapes how organizations build, operate, and innovate, the responsibility to protect them becomes more critical than ever. When you join SentinelOne, your work helps protect global enterprises, critical infrastructure, and the technologies shaping tomorrow. If you are motivated by meaningful challenges and want your impact to be real, measurable, and global, you will find purpose here.

About Us

SentinelOne is a company at the intersection of AI and security, pioneering a new operating model for cybersecurity. Our AI-native platform unifies protection across endpoint, cloud, identity, data, and AI systems to deliver autonomous detection and response with clarity and speed. By combining real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and a unified data foundation, we reduce noise, simplify complexity, and empower security teams to focus on what truly matters.

Our teams are builders, problem-solvers, and innovators committed to shaping the future of security. If you are excited to solve hard problems alongside talented, mission-driven people, we invite you to help us build a safer future for humanity.

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for people who are relentlessly curious and committed to continuous learning. AI is reshaping every function across our business, and we enable every team member, regardless of role or level, to build fluency in AI tools and concepts. Those who thrive here actively seek out new solutions, experiment thoughtfully, and apply what they learn to drive better, faster, smarter outcomes.

As a Staff Cloud Workload Security Researcher, you will join a global team working across Windows, Linux, and macOS, spanning Endpoint, Cloud, and Identity. You will research evasions against our own sensors, track the offensive tooling landscape, and drive innovative research that anticipates the next generation of attacker tradecraft.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Proactively look for the newest and most sophisticated attack techniques, deeply research and understand their internals, and emulate these attacks to assess and improve our detection engines.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of potential attack paths within diverse systems and networks in cloud environments.
  • Identify and prioritize potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses that could be exploited by cyber adversaries in cloud platforms.
  • Build tools to support detection assessments, create proofs of concept for the newest techniques, and contribute to the design of innovative detection strategies.
  • Work closely with the threat intelligence team and engineering detection teams to provide guidance and highlight gaps in detection and visibility capabilities.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in cloud attack path analysis, vulnerability assessment, and threat modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, and Azure).
  • In-depth understanding of the cloud ecosystem, security principles, services, configurations, best practices, and relevant frameworks.
  • 4 or more years of experience in red teaming, security research, or offensive research, with a deep understanding of OS internals (Windows/Linux).
  • Hands-on experience coding in Python and C/C++.
  • Understanding of existing EDR internals.
  • Experience leveraging agentic AI workflows for detection engineering tasks (reverse engineering, code auditing, signature writing).
  • A proven track record of conference speaking at security conferences or publications is an advantage.
  • Experience writing detection signatures or heuristics is an advantage.
