Pay Range:  $70,100.00 to $86,000.00 

Job Summary

As an Accountant II, you will play a vital role within our finance team, maintaining and managing accurate financial records to support informed business decisions. This position involves ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded thoroughly and accurately, reconciling subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger, and preparing comprehensive financial statements including balance sheets and profit and loss reports. You will also be responsible for analyzing current financial data such as costs, revenues, and obligations, helping forecast future financial performance and supporting strategic planning.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional who possesses a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and may consider pursuing CPA certification. You will typically report to a supervisor or manager and collaborate closely with other finance and accounting professionals. The position is based remotely in Kentucky, providing flexibility while contributing to the team’s financial integrity and success.

Ideal candidates will be in the intermediate phase of their career, with 2-4 years of relevant experience, gaining exposure to complex accounting tasks and developing expertise within the accounting function.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting financial transactions.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Analyze financial information to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement in cost control and revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in forecasting future financial performance by evaluating current expenditures, revenues, commitments, and obligations.
  • Support the preparation and execution of internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • 2 to 4 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ledger management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and present financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
  • Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is a plus but not mandatory at this stage.

Essential Job Function
