Sr. Regulatory Reporting Accountant

About the role
As part of albo’s next stage of growth, we are integrating a SOFIPO into the Group and building a best-in-class Finance organization. We are looking for an Accounting Lead who will become the technical leader of the accounting function, driving financial reporting excellence, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and accounting integration. This role offers high visibility across the organization and close interaction with executive leadership, auditors, regulators, and cross-functional teams. It is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to help shape the accounting function of one of Mexico’s leading fintech companies.

What you’ll be doing at albo:
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican NIF and support IFRS and CNBV reporting requirements.
• Coordinate external and internal audits and prepare audit support.
• Lead the accounting integration of the newly acquired SOFIPO.
• Standardize accounting policies, procedures and chart of accounts across the Group.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify process automation opportunities.
• Partner with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Operations and Product teams on strategic initiatives.
• Act as the accounting subject matter expert and mentor junior team members.

About you and what type of skills you'll need:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
• 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience within Banking, Fintech, SOFIPO,  IFPE or another regulated financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican NIF; IFRS and CNBV regulatory reporting.
• Proven experience leading financial close, audits, internal controls and financial reporting. 
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or similar).
• Experience supporting M&A, post-merger integration or finance transformation projects is a strong plus.
