The Senior Project Manager (PM) Microgrid & Off-Grid Project Execution is responsible for the complete and satisfactory execution of the entire project and reports to the Project Execution Manager. As the company representative to the Owner, design professionals, contractors, vendors, authorities, and other external stakeholders, the PM is ultimately accountable for the project's success or failure. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience executing microgrid and off-grid projects involving integrated electrical systems, distributed energy resources (DERs), battery energy storage systems (BESS), photovoltaic generation, generators, controls, and field commissioning.

 

What will you do?

  • Lead the execution of grid-connected, islandable, and off-grid microgrid projects from engineering handoff through commissioning, turnover, and warranty transition.
  • Manage the integration of BESS, solar PV, generators, switchgear, controls, communications, and energy management systems to deliver fully operational microgrid solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, contractors, equipment suppliers, commissioning specialists, utilities, and customers to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Oversee factory testing, site acceptance testing, energization, controls integration, commissioning, and final system startup.
  • Drive resolution of technical, operational, and commercial challenges while managing project risks, changes, and customer expectations.
  • Own project scope, schedule, budget, forecasting, procurement, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead customer and stakeholder communications, providing clear updates on project progress, milestones, risks, and key decisions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with complete documentation, training, and closeout packages.

 

What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. PMP certification is preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive project management or project execution experience in construction, electrical infrastructure, energy, controls, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience executing microgrid, off-grid, islandable, distributed energy, BESS, PV, generator, or complex electrical integration projects.

  • Working knowledge of project finance, tender management, contract proposals, order entry, procurement, purchasing, forecasting, billing, and change control.

  • Experience managing project sites, general contractors, electrical contractors, subcontractors, vendors, commissioning partners, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

  • Practical technical understanding of electrical contracts, single-line diagrams, switchgear, protection and controls, electrical distribution equipment, and system interfaces.

  • Experience coordinating FAT, SAT, energization, functional testing, commissioning, and project turnover is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Procore or a comparable construction management platform and confidence using scheduling, financial, and reporting tools.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required and operate effectively in active construction and commissioning environments.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
