JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Product Manager, Growth will own the product strategy and execution required to acquire, activate, retain, and expand Clarvos customers. This leader will turn customer behavior, funnel data, and commercial priorities into product experiences that reduce churn, increase upsell and improve conversion across the customer lifecycle.
This role requires a hands-on growth product leader who has delivered measurable growth in an early-stage startup and can operate with limited structure, imperfect data, and changing priorities. The ideal candidate has built growth systems from the ground up, instrumented funnels, developed and tested hypotheses, and partnered directly with Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to convert insight into business results.
This is a high-autonomy individual-contributor role for a self-starter who can move fluidly between strategy, analytics, customer discovery, product requirements, experimentation, and delivery. The Sr Product Manager will be directly accountable for churn, upsell, and funnel performance, including acquisition-to-sign-up conversion, onboarding completion, activation, time-to-value, trial-to-paid conversion, engagement, renewal, and expansion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end-to-end growth product strategy and roadmap across acquisition, sign-up, onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, renewal, upsell, and expansion.
- Define the growth model, north-star metric, funnel stages, leading indicators, targets, and operating cadence required to improve customer and revenue outcomes.
- Instrument the customer funnel and establish reliable event definitions, dashboards, cohorts, and attribution methods in partnership with Data and Engineering.
- Identify the highest-impact growth constraints through quantitative analysis, customer research, behavioral data, support themes, and commercial feedback.
- Develop a prioritized experiment portfolio with explicit hypotheses, target segments, success measures, guardrails, sample-size considerations, and post-test decisions.
- Lead rapid experimentation across onboarding, education, feature discovery, pricing and packaging, upgrade prompts, lifecycle journeys, and re-engagement experiences.
- Reduce time-to-value and early-life churn by improving the path from account creation to the first successful campaign and repeat product value.
- Build product-led and assisted expansion experiences that increase subscription upgrades, add-on adoption, cross-sell, and customer lifetime value without degrading trust or product experience.
- Develop churn-prevention capabilities using health signals, cohort behavior, cancellation reasons, product usage, and predictive indicators of disengagement or renewal risk.
- Own detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, rollout plans, and measurement plans for growth initiatives.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Design throughout discovery and implementation, making informed scope and technical tradeoffs while maintaining a high quality bar.
- Work with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Finance to connect acquisition sources, product behavior, assisted touchpoints, retention, expansion, and revenue performance.
- Create customer segmentation and cohort strategies that enable relevant onboarding, recommendations, lifecycle experiences, offers, and upgrade paths.
- Establish structured learning loops that turn experiment results, customer evidence, and operating data into roadmap and go-to-market decisions.
- Communicate growth strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, experiment results, risks, and realized business impact clearly to executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Operate with startup urgency and resourcefulness, personally performing the analysis, discovery, requirements development, validation, and launch work needed to deliver outcomes.
SUCCESS MEASURES
- Reduction in gross customer churn and improvement in logo and revenue retention.
- Growth in subscription upgrades, add-on adoption, cross-sell, expansion revenue, and net revenue retention.
- Improvement in acquisition-to-sign-up, sign-up-to-onboarding, onboarding-to-activation, trial-to-paid, and paid-to-renewal conversion rates.
- Reduction in onboarding abandonment and time-to-first-value, including time to first successful campaign.
- Improvement in activated-user engagement, repeat usage, feature adoption, and cohort retention.
- Experiment velocity, percentage of tests producing statistically and commercially meaningful learning, and realized incremental impact.
- Reliability and completeness of funnel instrumentation, cohort reporting, and growth dashboards.
- Delivery of growth initiatives against defined product, customer, and revenue outcomes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 or more years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of growth, product-led growth, monetization, lifecycle, or customer-retention products.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable growth at an early-stage startup, including building or materially scaling a growth motion with limited resources and ambiguity.
- A quantified record of improving churn, retention, activation, funnel conversion, upsell, expansion, or customer lifetime value through shipped product changes.
- Hands-on experience defining funnels, instrumenting events, analyzing cohorts, diagnosing drop-off, and translating findings into product strategy and experiments.
- Strong experimentation discipline, including hypothesis development, prioritization, A/B or multivariate testing, guardrail metrics, result interpretation, and follow-through.
- Experience owning the full product lifecycle from customer discovery and business case through requirements, launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Strong commercial and financial judgment, with the ability to connect product decisions to recurring revenue, customer acquisition economics, retention, expansion, and lifetime value.
- Experience partnering deeply with Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Finance in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent product requirements, prioritization, roadmap management, analytical communication, executive communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a self-starter, create structure from ambiguity, make decisions with imperfect information, and combine strategic ownership with hands-on execution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in B2B SaaS, MarTech, AdTech, AI, analytics, or another recurring-revenue software business serving SMB customers.
- Experience with self-serve, sales-assisted, or hybrid growth motions and with multiple subscription tiers, usage limits, add-ons, or expansion paths.
- Working proficiency with SQL and product analytics or experimentation platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, Looker, Optimizely, or comparable tools.
- Experience with lifecycle messaging, in-product education, personalization, recommendations, pricing and packaging, or cancellation and win-back experiences.
- Experience developing customer health, renewal-risk, propensity-to-upgrade, or next-best-action models with Data Science or Analytics teams.
- Experience applying AI or automation to improve customer onboarding, campaign creation, recommendations, support, or growth operations.
SUCCESS PROFILE
- Growth-oriented and commercially minded, with clear accountability for customer and recurring-revenue outcomes.
- Highly analytical and curious, able to move from ambiguous signals to a testable hypothesis and an executable product decision.
- Hands-on and technically credible, willing to inspect data, validate instrumentation, write detailed requirements, and test the delivered experience.
- Customer-centered and pragmatic, balancing near-term conversion opportunities with long-term trust, retention, and product value.
- Proactive, resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable building the growth discipline rather than waiting for established processes or perfect information.
