Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Engineer, HR Systems – Integrations to support, modernize, enhance, and optimize the company’s global Human Resources technology ecosystem. This role serves as a senior technical engineer and integration subject matter expert responsible for designing, developing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting enterprise integrations across Workday and the broader HR application landscape.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Workday integration technologies, enterprise middleware, API-based architecture, event-driven integrations, secure file transfer, and cloud integration platforms. This position connects Workday with HR, Payroll, Finance, Identity Management, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Procurement, and other enterprise applications while ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and data integrity.
The role partners closely with HR Technology, Enterprise Architecture, Payroll, Finance, Security, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, and external vendors to deliver scalable, resilient, and business-critical integration solutions supporting Foot Locker’s global workforce.

Responsibilities
Workday Integration Engineering
- Serve as a senior technical expert for Workday integration architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Design, build, test, and optimize inbound and outbound integrations supporting Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Absence, Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Security, and organizational data.
- Develop and support solutions using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Workday-delivered connectors, Workday Web Services, REST APIs, and SOAP services.
- Create scalable integration designs that support global requirements, high data volumes, effective-dated transactions, and complex business rules.
Enterprise Integration Architecture & Middleware Design
- Design point-to-point, middleware-based, API-driven, event-driven, and secure file-based integration solutions.
- Develop transformation, orchestration, routing, validation, error-handling, retry, and reconciliation patterns using Dell Boomi and other enterprise middleware capabilities.
- Define reusable integration patterns, canonical data models, interface standards, and technical guardrails aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Assess integration options and recommend the appropriate pattern based on business criticality, data sensitivity, transaction volume, latency, recoverability, and total cost of ownership.
Application Integration Delivery
- Design and support integrations between Workday and PeopleSoft HR, payroll, benefits, talent, learning, recruiting, workforce management, and identity platforms.
- Integrate HR solutions with Finance, ERP, financial planning, procurement, supplier management, expense management, reporting, data warehouse, and analytics applications.
- Create and maintain interface specifications, source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, schedules, dependencies, security requirements, and operational support documentation.
- Partner with application owners and vendors to coordinate end-to-end design, testing, release, cutover, and stabilization activities.
Scheduling, Managed File Transfer & Automation
- Design and maintain enterprise job schedules, dependencies, calendars, and automation workflows using Control-M (Ctrl-M) or comparable scheduling technologies.
- Build and support secure file transfer processes using GoAnywhere (GoA), SFTP, encryption, key management, and approved managed file transfer practices.
- Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, automated recovery, reconciliation, and operational dashboards for business-critical integrations.
- Coordinate batch schedules and upstream/downstream dependencies across Workday, middleware, HR, Finance, Payroll, and Procurement systems.
Production Support & Operational Excellence
- Lead resolution of complex integration failures, performance issues, and data discrepancies across interconnected platforms.
- Perform root-cause analysis, document findings, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Support platform releases, upgrades, regression testing, deployment, production validation, disaster recovery, and continuity exercises.
- Drive improvements in integration reliability, observability, supportability, performance, automation, and SLA attainment.
Data Governance, Security & Compliance
- Protect sensitive workforce, payroll, financial, and supplier data throughout transmission, transformation, storage, and support processes.
- Apply authentication, authorization, encryption, certificate, secrets-management, and least-privilege principles to integration solutions.
- Support SOX, privacy, audit, records retention, and regulatory control requirements, including evidence collection and remediation activities.
- Ensure data accuracy, lineage, reconciliation, and traceability across source and target applications.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams across global initiatives.
- Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, integration assessments, troubleshooting sessions, and solution evaluations.
- Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and champion engineering, documentation, and operational support standards.
- Contribute to integration roadmaps, platform modernization, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise application integrations
- 3+ years of Workday integration experience required.
- Demonstrated expertise with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services, REST APIs, SOAP services, and Workday Integration Cloud capabilities.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing integrations using Dell Boomi or a comparable enterprise integration platform.
- Strong understanding of API, middleware, event-driven, point-to-point, batch, and secure file-based integration patterns.
- Experience with JSON, XML, XSLT, web services, SFTP, certificates, encryption, OAuth, and related integration security practices.
- Experience with Control-M (Ctrl-M), GoAnywhere (GoA), or comparable enterprise scheduling and managed file transfer technologies.
- Experience integrating Workday with multiple enterprise applications, including HR, Payroll, Finance, ERP, Procurement, Identity, reporting, and data platforms.
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft HR or a comparable legacy HRMS and understanding coexistence, conversion, and transitional integration requirements.
- Strong SQL, data analysis, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, testing, deployment, and technical documentation skills.
- Experience working within Agile, product-based, or iterative delivery models in a complex global environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Integration certification or equivalent advanced Workday integration training.
- Dell Boomi or similar integration platform professional certification or demonstrated advanced Boomi development expertise.
- Experience participating in a Workday implementation, global rollout, acquisition integration, or major HR technology transformation.
- Experience integrating Workday with PeopleSoft HR, UKG Pro WFM, ADP or other payroll platforms, Oracle Cloud ERP, ServiceNow, Microsoft Entra ID, and procurement solutions.
- Experience with API management, cloud-native integration, event or messaging platforms, and integration observability tools.
- Knowledge of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Procurement, Identity, and workforce data domains.
- Experience supporting SOX, audit, privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory controls for enterprise integrations.
- Experience supporting organizations across North America, EMEA, and APAC; global retail experience preferred.

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $115,000 - $135,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short and long term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
