As a member of our in-house counsel legal department, you will be primarily responsible for the litigation of insurance company and third party administrator claims for PA Workers Compensation. Utilize your litigation experience and legal knowledge to represent insured and self-insured employers in the litigation of workers' compensation claims, to prepare legal correspondence, memorandums, briefs and pleadings and participate in the negotiation and settlements of litigated claims. In this position you will conduct depositions of claimants, insureds and expert witnesses. As member of our legal team you will ensure compliance with Defense Counsel Guidelines as well as develop and maintain solid internal and external client relationships, perform legislative and/or regulatory research and analysis and advise internal clients of developments in workers' compensation law and procedure.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Licensed with the PA Bar Association
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of workers compensation litigation experience representing insured and self-insured employers with a proven track record of providing quality and cost effective advocacy
  • Good computer skills Microsoft Word and ability to use internal legal billing software/systems.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including ability to deliver client presentations and conduct training seminars
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, exercise good judgment, and balance multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in either a self-directed or a collaborative environment
  • Solid research, analytical and negotiation skills
  • Extensive technical knowledge of PA workers compensation law and litigation process and ability to effectively apply such knowledge in a variety of claims and business situations
  • Strong familiarity with, and ability to apply, litigation management techniques
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout the PA area
