We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer + Database Administrator with 6+ years of hands-on experience managing production SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL, along with advanced T-SQL development, query optimization, and database performance tuning. This role involves administering production databases, optimizing SQL performance, collaborating with solution architects, supporting Entity Framework-based applications, and ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational excellence. Experience with AI-powered database monitoring and automation is a plus. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced production environments while partnering closely with technical leadership.
\n- Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
- Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
- Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information
- Administer and manage production SQL Server environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL
- Author, review, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, DML statements, and schema changes
- Perform query performance tuning through execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, statistics management, and operator-level diagnostics
- Collaborate closely with the lead architect to evaluate and implement decisions impacting production environments
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of production schemas, data flows, and system architecture
- Support Entity Framework–based applications by analyzing generated SQL and recommending optimizations
- Leverage AI tooling to enhance database operations, monitoring, and automation practices – This is nice to have.
- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, risks, and operational inefficiencies
- 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator with hands-on SQL Server expertise
- Proficiency with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Experience with cloud-hosted relational databases, including AWS MySQL
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including DDL, DML, stored procedures, and query optimization
- Demonstrated ability to interpret execution plans and conduct operator-level query analysis
- Working knowledge of Entity Framework and its SQL generation patterns
- Familiarity with AI tools and their application in database management and automation
- Strong operational mindset with a focus on reliability, performance, and production stability
- Decisive and composed under pressure, with the ability to make sound judgments in live production environments
- Self-directed and proactive, with a track record of identifying and addressing issues independently
