The Special Education Assistant Coordinator performs general duties and provides general support to the Special Education team to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department, allowing staff to effectively support students with disabilities and meet all required timelines and compliance expectations.Certificates and Licenses: None Required
Residency Requirements: Ohio residents preferred
Will consider applicants from a surrounding state to Ohio within one hundred miles from the Ohio border.
Border states include Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana.
Applicants must be able to meet travel requirements and be willing and able to obtain Ohio Certification

The Special Education Assistant Coordinator performs general duties and provides general support to the Special Education team to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department, allowing staff to effectively support students with disabilities and meet all required timelines and compliance expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the special education team with special education and section 504 compliance paperwork and document completion.
Assists with the development and implementation of all policies and procedures related to the Special Programs Department.
Helps to maintain compliance documentation as required by state and federal guidelines for special education and section 504 students and program requirements.
Work collaboratively with OHVA team members
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and/or experience in special education
Associate's degree AND
One (1) year of experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to clear required background check
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Certificates and Licenses: None Required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a special education classroom
Knowledge of special education software
