Position summary:

A DAM Solutions Engineer is a client-focused technical and subject matter expert who combines deep technical knowledge with the consulting skills needed to deliver exceptional client experiences. This role requires Digital Asset Management (DAM) expertise across metadata and taxonomy design, asset lifecycle governance and rights management, platform configuration, and user adoption, along with working knowledge of adjacent platforms, including Product Information Management (PIM), Content Management Systems (CMS), and ecommerce.

DAM Solutions Engineers serve as the primary liaison to clients across the full engagement lifecycle, from scoping and pre-sales support to solution design, implementation, enablement, and long-term platform strategy. They are recognized experts in DAM and Ntara's broader PXM disciplines, capable of translating complex technical concepts for marketing, creative, brand, and IT stakeholders while identifying new opportunities that drive measurable business value.

Key responsibilities:

Utilization & Project Status

• Maintain personal billable rate at 75%, balancing project contributions with internal and sales assistance.
• Ensure consistent and accurate time logging using tools like Jira and Tempo.
• Communicate workload, task status, and blockers to your manager and project managers (PMs).

Client Engagement & Solution Architecture

• Serve as the primary functional and technical consultant for client implementations, asset lifecycle design, asset migrations, and systems integrations.
• Lead discovery sessions with marketing, creative, and IT stakeholders to assess asset workflows, taxonomy and metadata, and business objectives that shape DAM strategy and integration requirements.
• Guide clients in evaluating and selecting appropriate DAM platforms based on business requirements, user needs, and future scalability.
• Support pre-sales activities by contributing to technical scopes, solution design, and platform evaluations focused on DAM capabilities.
• Gather requirements for integrations between the DAM and connected platforms (e.g., PIM, CMS, ecommerce, and creative workflow tools), covering inbound asset ingestion and metadata enrichment and outbound asset syndication.

Delivery & Support

• Collaborate with and delegate work to DAM Specialist team members to ensure accurate configuration and deployment of DAM systems that deliver intuitive user experiences.
• Collaborate with development team members to ensure efficient and accurate systems integration.
• Troubleshoot platform-level issues, including permission errors, workflow automation breakdowns, and rendition or integration failures. Tune configurations to keep performance and uptime high as asset volume grows.
• Own client-specific technical specifications and architecture documentation for migrations, system configuration, and integrations, and coordinate their creation and upkeep with other Ntara departments.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies in the DAM space and lead internal evaluations to assess applicability and business impact.

Strategic Planning & Innovation

• Own and refine Ntara's DAM delivery toolkit, including migration and implementation methodology, and governance frameworks.
• Inform and help create strategic roadmaps that align DAM system growth with broader enterprise architecture.
• Evaluate and score new platforms or tools for internal and client use.

Quality & Change Management

• Review configurations and integrations before launch to confirm they meet client goals and will scale effectively.
• Drive change management initiatives by articulating the business case for new DAM workflows or enhancements.
• Promote process standardization and documentation around workflows, integrations, and governance in DAM systems.

Skills + Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Digital Media, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
• Rutgers Digital Asset Management (DAM) Bronze Certificate or other DAM certifications a plus. Advanced coursework or certification in Business Analysis, Systems Architecture, Data Management, or Agile delivery also valued.
• 5+ years of DAM experience in consulting, in-house, or agency capacity.
• Proven ability to consult with clients and solve complex technical and business problems.

General Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical consulting, or systems architecture delivering DAM solutions, including managing multiple concurrent clients and workstreams in a professional services or digital agency environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading in-person workshops and discovery sessions, and translating client requirements into scalable DAM solution designs.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-system implementations and integrations.
• Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including scoping, DAM platform evaluations, and technical proposal development.
• Proficiency with project management and time-tracking tools such as Jira and Tempo.
• Experience drafting system documentation, including technical requirements, metadata schemas, and asset lifecycle diagrams.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite and client leadership.
• Experience contributing to or establishing internal delivery standards, methodologies, or reusable frameworks is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Deep hands-on experience with one or more DAM platforms such as Aprimo, Bynder, Cloudinary, or Orange Logic, including configuration, taxonomy and metadata modeling, and user training.
• Experience with asset lifecycle automation, change management, and integrations, including API-based data ingestion and asset delivery workflows.
• Understanding of API principles as applied to system integration architecture, including knowledge of REST APIs.
• Proven ability to analyze and model large, complex datasets.
• Ecommerce platform experience, including integrations and deployments, is a plus.
• CMS platform experience (e.g., Kentico, Optimizely/Episerver, Sitefinity) is a plus.
• Experience with PIM platforms (e.g., Akeneo, Inriver, Salsify, Stibo) is a plus.
