At Worldpackers, we believe that travel can transform people - and transformed people can transform the world. ✨
Since 2014, we’ve been building a global community of conscious travelers and welcoming hosts, enabling meaningful connections and thousands of collaborative experiences around the world.
Our purpose is rooted in connection. We exist to foster personal growth, cultural exchange, and a more socially and environmentally sustainable world through travel.
Respect, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning guide everything we do. Being part of Worldpackers — as a traveler, host, or team member — means being part of a diverse, global community where different perspectives are valued and discriminatory behavior has no place.
Being part of Worldpackers means working with purpose - helping more people experience transformative journeys through connection.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us and help create unforgettable collaborative experiences around the world. 🌎
As our Social Media Strategist, you'll own the strategic layer of Worldpackers' social presence: what we say, where we say it, and why. You'll set the content pillars, the master calendar framework, and the channel roadmap that our Social Media Analysts execute against — and make sure that system reports back to real business outcomes like sign-ups, waitlist adds, deposits, and purchases, not vanity metrics.
This isn't a day-to-day posting role. You'll build the system the Analysts run inside, and you'll be the person leadership turns to when the question is: is our social strategy actually working? Over time, as the team matures, this role is expected to evolve into a Team Lead position over the Analysts and Intern.
Strategy & Content Pillars
Own Worldpackers' social strategy across brands, markets, and languages — translating business priorities into a coherent social plan.
Define the brand-led content pillars that our Analysts build their calendars against, so pillars are set once instead of reinvented per language or product line.
Set the master content calendar framework: cadence, format mix, and campaign windows.
Channel Development
Own the channel roadmap — which platforms get investment beyond Instagram (TikTok, YouTube, and beyond), in what sequence, and with what resourcing.
Decide when a new or dormant channel is ready to activate, and set it up for the right team member to own once it matures.
Reporting & Measurement
Design the reporting framework — what gets measured, how often, and in what format — so social's contribution to sign-ups, waitlist adds, deposits, and purchases is visible.
Review performance each cycle and translate it into strategy adjustments: doubling down on what works, cutting or reshaping what doesn't.
Define what "meaningful engagement" looks like per pillar and platform, and hold the team accountable to quality over raw output volume.
Creator Program
Design the creator program used across the team: contract templates, rate card, rotation cadence, and quality bar for roughly 20 creators rotating through our pipeline each month.
Streamline the contract process with Legal and Finance so creator onboarding never becomes a bottleneck.
Tools & Team Cadence
Own the social listening framework and the standard playbook for our social/CRM stack (Sprout Social, ManyChat, LinkTree), evaluating and rolling out new tools as needed.
Set the team's planning rhythm — briefing, approval, and publishing workflow — and act as the point of escalation when priorities conflict.
Keep the flows connecting the team to creative, legal, and reporting running smoothly, and make sure execution stays true to Worldpackers' brand and strategy.
3+ years of experience in social media strategy, ideally for a marketplace, subscription, or two-sided platform with more than one funnel or product line.
A track record of building content-pillar frameworks and calendar systems that other people — not just you — execute against.
Strong data fluency: comfortable defining a reporting framework, reading engagement, reach, and conversion data, and turning it into a strategy change.
Experience designing or managing a creator/influencer program at meaningful scale (10+ concurrent creators).
Fluent English. Portuguese or Spanish is a strong plus, given our EN/ES/PT footprint.
Experience with Sprout Social, ManyChat, or comparable social/CRM tools.
A background in travel, marketplace, or community-driven consumer brands.
Prior people-management experience, or clear readiness to grow into a team-lead role.
