Social Media Manager

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Manager to define how Nexcess shows up on LinkedIn and in the Reddit communities where cloud gets discussed. Sitting on the Content team and collaborating closely with Creative, Product Marketing and Demand Generation, you'll own our social presence end to end. That means original content and channel strategy, community, and making sure social pulls its weight with every campaign, launch and event we run.

This is a role for someone who lives and breathes B2B social, with a head full of new ideas and the craft to land them. It's a job where the focus is finding social-native ways to make our cloud solutions story land, rather than just adapting blog posts to fit on the feed. You'll also enable a roster of internal experts who already want to publish, giving them the prompts and drafts to do it well. And you'll own our Reddit program, overseeing the agency partner behind it and getting the expertise Nexcess has into the conversations already happening in those communities.

What you'll do

• Own the Nexcess and Servers.com LinkedIn company pages, from calendar to copy to community response bringing launches, events and campaigns to social
• Concept and direct social-native content, including short-form video, working with the Creative team.
• Invent and test new formats, turning the ones that work into something repeatable.
• Enable a roster of internal experts to publish, drawing out what they know, drafting in their voice where needed, and growing the roster as more people put their hand up.
• Manage the Reddit agency day to day, reviewing drafts and replies before they go live.
• Partner with the Demand Gen team to boost the posts and people already earning attention.
• Turn listening and performance data into decisions about what gets published next.
• Hold the line on brand voice across both pages and every ghostwritten post.
  
  What you'll bring
• 4-6 years in B2B social media with LinkedIn as a primary channel.
• Experience running a Reddit program, and a feel for how presence gets built in communities that don't want to be marketed to.
• A portfolio of original B2B social work you wrote and published yourself, from concept to publish.
• A clear sense of what works in short-form video and graphics, and the briefing skills to get it made.
• A track record growing a company page audience, judged on engagement from the right buyers rather than follower count.
• Experience getting subject matter experts to publish, and making it easy enough that they keep going.
• Experience briefing an agency partner and holding the standard of what they produce.
• Comfort translating technical subject matter to customer facing content.
• A current working understanding of how LinkedIn distribution behaves, and the judgment to separate platform mechanics from platform folklore.

A significant bonus: working knowledge of GitHub and the developer communities around it, including how advocates there shape the perception of a company.
