The consultant will configure ServiceNow SPM modules including demand, project, financial, and resource management. They are responsible for migrating data from Smartsheet and rebuilding reporting structures to ensure parity with existing BI tools.
Role description
Build the demand management foundation: intake form, assessment and approval workflow, plus the Smartsheet-to-ServiceNow demand field mapping and data import.
Configure program and project management — templates, project task and WBS structure, and status report templates with KPIs, milestones and RAG reporting.
Build the Smartsheet field mappings into project, project task, program and portfolio records, including picklist translation and date/duration conventions.
Configure financial management: rate cards, cost plan structure, fiscal calendar and period setup, then load purchase orders, invoices and CMS funding with federal/state match splits.
Rebuild demand, project, program and portfolio reporting in ServiceNow and validate parity against Power BI ahead of its retirement.
Unit test all configuration and produce as-built documentation ahead of UAT handoff.
Required experience
5–8 years hands-on ServiceNow SPM/ITBM configuration across demand, project, program and portfolio management.
Direct experience building cost plans, fiscal period configuration, and forecast versus actual reporting in ServiceNow.
Demonstrated data migration into SPM — field mapping, transform maps, import sets and reconciliation — ideally from Smartsheet or a comparable PPM toolset.
Performance Analytics and reporting build experience, including replacing an incumbent BI tool and proving parity before decommission.
Preferred — uses AI heavily across SPM build and migration: mapping legacy field structures, generating transform logic, producing reconciliation test scenarios from source extracts, and drafting as-built documentation.
Applies AI to large financial and project data sets while personally verifying results against source.
ServiceNow CSA required; CIS-SPM strongly preferred. Public sector or CMS funding familiarity a plus.
