Purpose of the role
The SEO specialist owns the day-to-day organic search execution for Fountain Forward dealership accounts. The role translates account strategy into prioritized actions, coordinates implementation with content and website partners, monitors performance, and clearly communicates what is working, what is blocked, and what should happen next.
Improve non-brand organic visibility for vehicle, service, parts, finance, and local-intent searches.
Increase qualified organic traffic and measurable actions such as calls, forms, directions, and inventory engagement.
Protect dealership search performance through technical monitoring, content quality control, and local SEO maintenance.
Create a reliable operating rhythm so each account has clear priorities, completed work, documented blockers, and actionable reporting.
The specialist is accountable for execution quality, prioritization, documentation, and performance visibility.
Review each dealership’s business priorities, sales focus, inventory mix, service goals, market area, competitors, and current SEO performances.
Maintain a rolling 30-60-90 day SEO action plan for every assigned account.
Prioritize work by expected business impact, urgency, implementation effort, and dependency risk.
Translate broad recommendations into clear tasks with page targets, rationale, requirements, owner, and due date.
Run recurring checks for indexation, crawlability, canonicals, redirects, broken links, duplicate pages, XML sitemaps, robots directives, schema, and Core Web Vitals concerns.
Monitor Google Search Console for coverage changes, manual actions, security issues, page experience concerns, and unusual query or page losses.
Audit website-provider releases and template changes that may affect inventory pages, location pages, forms, tracking, metadata, or internal linking.
Document technical issues in implementation-ready tickets and verify fixes after deployment.
Optimize titles, meta descriptions, headings, copy, internal links, image guidance, FAQs, and schema recommendations for priority pages.
Map target queries to the correct page type to avoid cannibalization and unnecessary page creation.
Create or improve briefs for model, service, finance, trade-in, parts, offer, comparison, and local landing pages.
Review drafts for search intent, factual accuracy, readability, duplication, dealership differentiation, compliance, and conversion relevance.
Monitor search visibility and indexation for vehicle search result pages, vehicle detail pages, model pages, and used-vehicle category pages.
Identify scalable opportunities involving make, model, trim, body style, price range, fuel type, condition, and location intent.
Recommend rules for handling sold inventory, thin VDPs, parameter pages, faceted navigation, pagination, and duplicate inventory URLs.
Coordinate with website vendors when inventory templates or platform restrictions prevent best-practice implementation.
Audit dealership and department profiles for category selection, naming consistency, hours, services, links, photos, attributes, and location accuracy.
Support location landing pages and ensure consistent dealership name, address, phone, departments, service areas, and map information.
Monitor local rankings and review trends, and flag suspicious activity, duplicate profiles, suspensions, or ownership issues.
Provide recommendations for posts, questions and answers, review response themes, and local relevance signals; publishing may remain with the account or social team.
Use GA4, Google Search Console, GBP data, rank tracking, and internal portal to evaluate performance.
Annotate major website changes, campaigns, tracking changes, inventory events, and search volatility so reporting has context.
Prepare concise monthly insights: results, causes, completed work, blockers, next priorities, and decisions needed.
Participate in the agreed internal account meeting cadence and arrive with updates, risks, and recommended next steps.
Maintain accurate task statuses, notes, links, supporting evidence, and QA results in the project-management system.
Escalate tracking failures, major traffic losses, indexation issues, GBP problems, or vendor delays quickly.
Coordinate with paid media, content, account management, development, creative, and website-provider teams when SEO work overlaps their responsibilities.
SEO analysis, prioritization, recommendations, briefs, task documentation, optimization work within granted access, and post-launch QA.
Performance interpretation and the clear communication of risks, dependencies, and recommended next steps.
Following up on assigned SEO implementation items until they are completed, rejected, or formally deprioritized.
Website code changes, platform configuration, template releases, redirects, and server-level implementation controlled by website vendors or developers.
Final dealership business decisions involving inventory, offers, pricing, market expansion, or department operations.
