AI Summary

Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for enterprise customer implementations, ensuring projects meet timelines and technical requirements. Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers while managing cross-functional teams and internal engineering workflows.

Your Epic Quest as Our Senior Technical Program Manager!

The Senior Technical Program Manager owns delivery. You are the person standing between a signed contract and a live, value-producing deployment at a health system or payer, and you are accountable for getting from one to the other on time, with the customer still smiling. You’ll run our most complex implementations end to end, drive the engineering work behind them, and be the single voice the customer trusts on status, risk, and what happens next. This role exists because 60-day implementations don’t happen by accident; they happen because someone with real technical depth and real operating rigor makes them happen.

Your Day-to-Day Superpowers: What You’ll Actually Do:

Delivery – owning the program end to end

  • Own the full delivery lifecycle for enterprise customer implementations, from kickoff through go-live and hypercare, against a committed timeline and scope
  • Build and run the integrated program plan across Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, and the customer’s own IT and operations teams; you own the critical path and everyone knows it
  • Run the operating cadence – weekly working sessions, executive steering, internal delivery reviews – and keep every one of them decision-oriented, not status theater.
  • Track dependencies, risks, and blockers relentlessly, and escalate early with a proposed answer rather than a problem statement
  • Own the go-live readiness process: cutover plans, rollback criteria, support handoffs, and the go/no-go call
  • Write the doc. Delivery plans, weekly status narratives, risk memos, retrospectives, and correction-of-error reviews that hold up in front of a CEO or a health system CIO

Technical – being the technical conscience of the program

  • Go deep on the integration architecture for every implementation: EHR connectivity, payer and clearinghouse feeds, API integrations, and the data pipelines underneath them
  • Lead technical design discussions with customer IT teams and our engineers; translate requirements into scoped, sequenced engineering work and push back when the ask doesn’t match the architecture
  • Own environment readiness across the customer’s stack and ours: data access, security reviews, VPN/SFTP/API connectivity, test data, and UAT
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to get through customer security questionnaires, HIPAA and SOC 2 reviews, and BAAs without slowing the program down
  • Surface where implementations keep hitting the same friction and turn it into product and platform requirements, so the next customer goes faster than the last one

Customer – being the face of Penguin from kickoff to go-live

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer program leadership through the implementation; you set expectations, hold them, and reset them honestly when the facts change
  • Present to customer executives, from VP Revenue Cycle to CIO and CMO, with the credibility to explain technical decisions and the judgment to know when not to
  • Manage change on the customer’s side: workflow redesign, end-user readiness, and adoption, because a technically perfect deployment nobody uses is a failure
  • Own the handoff to Customer Success and Support with a clean, documented picture of what was built, what was decided, and what’s still open

Scaling delivery – building the machine, not just running it

  • Build the reusable implementation playbook: templates, checklists, timelines, and gating criteria that turn our 60-day implementation into a repeatable system rather than a heroic one
  • Define delivery metrics (time-to-value, milestone adherence, defect escape rate, customer health) and instrument them so leadership sees delivery health without asking
  • Mentor and set the bar for the delivery function as it grows

What We're Looking For: Your TPM Arsenal!

  • 7+ years as a Technical Program Manager or equivalent at a top-tier technology company – Amazon/AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, or peers – where you owned large, cross-functional, customer-committed programs
  • Real technical depth: you’ve been a software engineer, solutions architect, or equivalent, or you’ve earned the standing to run design reviews with senior engineers. You read architecture diagrams, API specs, and data models fluently and can spot the gap
  • A track record of delivering enterprise customer implementations or launches with hard external commitments, ideally with health systems, payers, or other large regulated institutions
  • Genuine customer presence: you’ve been the primary technical contact for demanding enterprise customers and have run executive steering meetings that ended in decisions
  • Exceptional written communication. You can compress a messy program into a onepage narrative that a CEO can act on, and you write status that people actually read
  • Bias for action and ownership in the Amazon sense: you run toward the fire, you don’t wait for permission, and you finish what you start
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace: you’ve operated where the plan changed weekly and still shipped

Bonus Points: Your Secret Weapons!

  • You’ve worked in revenue cycle, utilization management, or prior authorization and have seen what “denied” costs a provider
  • You’ve delivered AI or ML products into production for enterprise customers and understand what changes when the output isn’t deterministic
  • You’ve built a delivery function from scratch, not just operated inside one
  • You hold PMP, SAFe, or similar credentials, and you’d cheerfully trade all of them for one more on-time go-live
  • You’ve written a correction-of-error document that changed how a team works
