About the role

As a Senior / Tech Lead Mobile App Developer, you will take technical ownership of our mobile application and help build the next generation of DeFi trading experiences.

You’ll be a hands-on technical leader, working primarily on our React Native application while owning key architectural decisions, engineering standards, performance, reliability, and the overall technical direction of the mobile product. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and other engineers to turn complex trading functionality into fast, reliable, and intuitive mobile experiences.

We’re looking for an experienced mobile engineer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, make sound technical decisions, and raise the engineering bar across the team. You should be comfortable moving between architecture and hands-on implementation, reviewing and improving others' work, troubleshooting complex production issues, and driving projects from technical design through release. Most importantly, this role is for someone passionate about building exceptional mobile products and excited about the future of decentralized finance.

Responsibilities:

• Take technical ownership of our React Native mobile application, driving its architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability across iOS and Android.

• Lead the full engineering lifecycle of mobile features, from technical design and hands-on implementation through testing, release, monitoring, and iteration.

• Build complex and high-impact functionality using React Native and TypeScript while defining and maintaining engineering standards, patterns, and best practices the codebase and team.

• Make key technical and architectural decisions, balancing product requirements, development speed, scalability, and technical debt, while proactively identifying and driving improvements to the mobile architecture and development processes.

• Provide technical guidance to other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions, including API design, integrations, real-time data flows, and supporting infrastructure.

• Own mobile release processes and application health, including App Store and Google Play releases, monitoring, issue triage, and investigation of complex bugs and production incidents to ensure reliable long-term fixes.

• Stay up to date with modern mobile development practices and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools when relevant.

Who you are:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience building production mobile applications.

• Experience building fintech, or trading applications.

• Experience with blockchain, Web3, or DeFi.

• Strong professional experience with React Native, React, and TypeScript.

• Experience owning or leading the technical development of a production mobile application.

• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, state management, performance, testing, and maintainability.

• Experience making architectural decisions and driving technical projects from design through production.

• Strong experience integrating mobile applications with backend APIs and services.

• Experience with Node.js.

• Strong experience working with REST APIs.

• Experience with real-time data and communication technologies such as gRPC, Server-Sent Events (SSE), or WebSockets is a strong plus.

• Experience debugging complex production issues and optimizing mobile application performance.

• Experience with mobile CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and release processes.

• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• Ability to provide technical direction and constructive feedback to other engineers.

• Comfortable taking ownership and operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly with both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

• Must be fluent in English.

• Based in the EU or New York timezone.

Nice to have

• Understanding of iOS and Android platforms, including platform-specific behaviors, limitations, and development best practices.

• Experience designing or scaling mobile applications with a significant production user base.

• Experience working on products involving real-time market data, order execution, charts, or other performance-sensitive financial interfaces.

• Previous experience acting as a Tech Lead or providing technical leadership within a mobile engineering team.
