Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineer to help build and operationalize the data, monitoring, and analytics capabilities used to measure network and service performance. Working in DataMiner cloud platform, you will define monitoring triggers, organize performance data, and help turn complex operational information into meaningful dashboards and reporting. This role will work with large volumes of network and operational data to create reliable data pipelines, monitoring frameworks, dashboards, alerts, and executive-level insights.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working with Skyline DataMiner and combines strong data engineering and business intelligence capabilities with an understanding of network or telecommunications performance data. The Data Engineer will help transform data from multiple systems into actionable intelligence, enabling teams to understand how services are performing, identify when recovery mechanisms are activated, evaluate whether service remains seamless during network events, and communicate those findings to technical and executive stakeholders. This is a long-term, remote role. Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers. Please note that we do not work c2c.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that collect, process, and organize large volumes of network, operational, and performance data from multiple sources.
• Integrate data from platforms such as DataMiner, and other operational or network-monitoring systems.
• Develop scalable data models that support operational analytics, network monitoring, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that provide visibility into work orders, operational pacing, network performance, and service metrics.
• Help implement and configure DataMiner as a centralized monitoring and analytics platform, including establishing appropriate metrics, triggers, and alerting requirements.
• Aggregate monitoring data from geographically distributed network sources to create a consolidated view of network and service performance.
• Analyze high-volume network telemetry generated during weather events, outages, recovery events, and other network conditions.
• Develop monitoring capabilities that help determine when network recovery mechanisms are activated and whether services continue to perform as expected.
• Translate modeling assumptions and expected service behavior into measurable performance indicators and monitoring criteria.
• Automate recurring performance reporting so that network events can generate meaningful post-event analysis and insights.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and service-performance issues within complex datasets and translate the findings into actionable recommendations.
• Develop clear reporting for both technical teams and executive stakeholders, turning complex network data into concise business insights.
• Collaborate with network engineering, operations, analytics, and business teams to determine what data should be captured, monitored, and presented.
• Help establish scalable data and analytics practices that can support increasing volumes of network telemetry and monitoring requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Must have experience working with Skyline DataMiner to pull and analyze network telemetry, service availability, network recovery, reliability, or performance data.
• Experience in data engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, or a combination of these disciplines.
• Experience building automated event-driven analytics, alerting, or reporting workflows.
• Understanding of network performance concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with network engineers.
• Experience designing and supporting data pipelines involving large or complex datasets.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience developing dashboards, visualizations, and operational reporting using Power BI.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise and operational systems.
• Experience developing monitoring metrics, KPIs, alerts, or automated reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and performance trends.
• Ability to translate complex technical data into understandable insights for business and executive audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations, analytics, and business teams.
