About Convoy Finance

We like working with people who move fast, think for themselves, and care about doing great work. That’s pretty much how we run Convoy.

We’re a small finance and accounting firm working with technology, SaaS, fintech and Web3 companies across Canada and internationally. We work directly with founders and senior finance teams, helping them with accounting, tax, finance operations and CFO advisory.

Our team is small, which means there isn’t much bureaucracy. You get real ownership, direct access to senior people and the chance to actually make things happen.

Most of the team is based in Toronto, so you’ll be working closely with the people around you while also getting exposure to clients and colleagues in different markets.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Tax Accountant who thrives in complexity, values precision, and enjoys being a trusted partner to the business. This role is ideal for someone who wants more than a traditional compliance position and is excited by the opportunity to help build scalable tax processes while supporting a growing organization.

You'll work across tax compliance, reporting, planning, and special projects, partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure the company remains compliant, efficient, and prepared for growth.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, digging into the details, and finding ways to make tax work better for the business.

  • Monitor tax law changes and help assess potential impacts on the business

Tax Operations & Analysis

  • Perform tax research and document conclusions on technical tax matters
  • Analyze tax accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Support financial statement reporting related to income taxes
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve tax processes and efficiencies

Audit & Risk Management

  • Support federal, state, and local tax audits and information requests
  • Prepare documentation and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
  • Help maintain strong controls and compliance processes
  • Ensure tax filings and supporting information remain organized and audit-ready
  • Assist in managing tax risks through proactive review and analysis

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions
  • Support cross-functional projects with tax-related insights and analysis
  • Assist with tax considerations related to business initiatives and operational changes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information and resolve tax matters
  • Serve as a reliable resource for day-to-day tax questions

Process Improvement & Growth

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes
  • Support the implementation and optimization of tax-related systems and tools
  • Help create and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to building a scalable tax function that can grow with the business
  • Take ownership of projects and continuously look for ways to improve how work gets done

Benefits

Why Convoy?

You’ll work with interesting companies, smart people and problems that don’t always come with an instruction manual.

You’ll have direct exposure to founders and senior finance leaders and get to see how growing companies actually operate. Because we’re a small team, your work is visible and your contribution matters.

You’ll be based in Toronto alongside most of the team, but our clients and colleagues aren’t all in one place. You’ll get exposure to different businesses, industries and markets, without being stuck doing the same thing every day.

We also make time for team lunches, happy hours and, when the numbers are good, the occasional team trip.

It’s fast-paced. It’s challenging. And it’s definitely not boring.

If you want to keep learning, take real ownership and grow beyond traditional accounting, we’d like to hear from you.

Compensation

USD 90,000–130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
