Job Description

Individual and Family Services (IFS) manages more than 700 inquiries for help each month and offers more than 30 groups each week.

The Support Specialist, Couples and Partners, provides education, community support, service navigation, and resource guidance for neurodiverse couples and partners. The specialist supports the development and delivery of Couples and Partners programming, leads groups and workshops, provides couples/partners coaching, moderates the online discussion forum, responds to other inquiries that help clients identify the AANE services and other resources that best meet their needs. This role may also provide support for parents of children, teens, and transition age youth as departmental needs arise. 

AANE offers Couples/Partner courses for clinicians and couples. This role will field course inquiries and support communication with participants.

Responsibilities

The following percentages are intended as general guidance and may shift in consultation with the employee and manager as programming, enrollment, and departmental priorities evolve.


Direct Client Service Responsibilities (70-80% of hours):

The IFS Support Specialist will engage in various activities to provide direct client support, including but not limited to:

  • Information and Resource Support: Provide education and support for couple/partner inquiries offering resources to clients responding to contact us or other email inquiries.

  • One-on-One Calls with Clients: Engage in free discovery calls for those looking for couples/partner information as well as conduct coaching calls with couples/partners needing support which could include providing education, resource guidance, and supportive consultation.

  • Group Facilitation: Lead and facilitate couples/partner support groups including the online discussion forum and Facebook Group

  • Facilitate couples/partner education programs such as training, workshops, or other content creation.

  • Participate in Couples and Partners enrollment support, and follow up communication.

  • Administrative Responsibilities: Manage administrative tasks related to one-on-one support and educational programming, such as pre and post session emails, client database entries, appointment management and session preparations.

  • Timely Communication: Ensure prompt and effective communication with individual clients, addressing questions and providing necessary resources and support.

Program Coordination and Course Support (10-15%)

  • Maintain a working understanding of the full range of Couples and Partners services, courses, groups, coaching, and support opportunities.

  • Use Thinkific and other AANE systems to coordinate course registration, scheduling, enrollment, participant communication, data collection, coupon codes, course navigation, and other routine course administration in collaboration with administrative staff.

  • Support program quality and growth through program evaluation, data tracking, and regular content review and updates. 

Meeting Attendance and Organizational Participation (10-15%)

  • Attend regular meetings with the direct manager.

  • Participate in IFS team meetings, relevant program planning meetings, full staff meetings, and organization wide events and initiatives as needed.

  • Collaborate across departments to support clear communication, effective program delivery, and alignment with AANE’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, peer support, coaching, human services, community programming, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of autism, neurodiversity, and neurodiverse relationships.

  • Experience developing accessible educational content such as workshops, videos, presentations, written resources, or online learning materials.

  • Experience facilitating support groups, workshops, adult learning experiences, or community discussions.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to respond thoughtfully to sensitive or complex questions while maintaining appropriate role boundaries

  • Ability to work collaboratively across roles and departments while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

  • Comfort using Zoom, Google Workspace, databases, and other web-based tools.

  • Preference given to neurodivergent candidates
