The Solutions Architecture team is responsible for researching, developing, and integrating cyber-compliant, standardized system solutions using innovative designs to enhance execution efficiency and the capabilities of digitally supported programs. The team is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as a senior technical leader within the team creating resilient architecture designs and IT infrastructure roadmaps aligning with business requirements and long-term plans. This role interacts regularly with chief and senior engineers to determine system requirements, specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of Information Systems. They are responsible for assisting in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex system problems, developing and recommending courses of action where needed. This position requires periodic, direct on-site support at the Raytheon Marlborough, MA, Tewksbury, MA; Woburn, MA; Tucson, AZ; El Segundo, CA; McKinney, TX location; whichever the candidate is closest to with remote work as an option.

What You Will Do

• Build technical relationships with internal customers and act as their architectural advisor.
• Architect resilient, redundant and highly-available infrastructure solutions for classified environments, across compute, storage and virtualization layers, as well as data retention and archival solutions ensuring compliance with mission needs, program cost profiles, performance requirements, standards and security requirements.
• Architect hybrid classified cloud integrations supporting increased velocity manufacturing
• Facilitate cloud adoption by sharing best practices, reference architectures, and providing education on cloud adoption and cloud migrations.
• Architect cross-domain solutions to drive automated low-to-high data and event flows.
• Coordinate with system administration, network, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end system performance.
• Produce detailed architectural diagrams and system design documents, aligning with internal configuration standards for classified systems.
• Develop cloud migration and integration strategies for legacy systems, proprietary applications, and new enterprise capabilities.
• Support capacity and scalability planning for classified compute infrastructure.
• Exercise and exhibit a strong knowledge of: Virtualization (VMware, Hyper V, or similar), Classified Cloud Capabilities, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Storage solutions (SAN/NAS), Identity and access management (AD, PKI, MFA), RMF, NIST, ICD, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks
• Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and DoDAF
• Coordinate with proposal teams and technical review teams regarding creation of technical solutions.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
• Must be able to travel up to 10%

 

Qualifications You Must Have

Education & Experience

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
• Experience in developing systems designs, including architecture, and deployment.
• Experience with infrastructure technologies such as server operating systems, server hardware, storage, networks, virtualization, cloud integrations, encryption, and security, archival systems and clients.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Red Hat, Ansible, VMware, Containerization, Cloud Native Architectures and Netapp Storage devices; Architectural and Security certifications such as TOGAF, Security+, and CISSP
• Demonstrated cloud integration experience.
• Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate ideas, process steps, and technical data in written, graphical, and spoken dialogue.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, standards-based architecture artifacts and documents.
• Ability to accurately express and articulate technical details to all levels of users and leadership.
• Experience with Government security controls including NISPOM, JAFAN, ICD 503 and the RMF

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
