Senior Software Engineer, Customer Studio Backend

About the Role

Join the backend team building a core customer data activation product for a marketing technology platform. You will shape reliable, scalable systems that help customers build audiences and put their data to work.

What You'll Do

• Own backend systems, improving their scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Improve data warehouse performance through query optimization and precomputed state.

• Build analytics and experimentation features for audience creation and performance tracking.

• Develop real-time audience syncing using change data capture and streaming approaches.

• Partner with product and design to turn customer needs and product specifications into robust backend solutions.

• Guide architecture decisions, balancing performance, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 years of backend engineering experience, including substantial work designing and building large-scale systems.

• Experience with high-growth startup environments and systems that process large volumes of data.

• Strong systems design skills and computer science fundamentals, from a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

• Staff-level engineering experience and a record of taking on increasing responsibility.

• A backend-focused, user-minded approach, with openness to customer conversations and feedback-driven iteration.

• Background in data activation, analytics, or data tooling in a SaaS environment, plus strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
