Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for motivated senior software engineer to join our APAC engineering team as part of a high-growth Cybersecurity company. You will be designing and building product features to bring Bitdefender’s cutting-edge security technologies, from endpoint security to cloud application protection.

About the Role 

• Lead the technical design and delivery of complex features and services, making sound architectural decisions and documenting important trade-offs.
• Own features throughout their lifecycle, from discovery and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
• Deliver new capabilities while maintaining, improving, and scaling existing applications and data-processing services.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, participate in incident response, and implement improvements that prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, security, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage technical risks, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Provide thoughtful code and design reviews, mentor other engineers, and help improve engineering practices across the team.
• Use AI-assisted tools, automation, and appropriate new technologies to improve engineering quality and efficiency without introducing unnecessary complexity. 

About You 

• You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• You have at least five years of software engineering experience and a proven track record of independently delivering complex production systems.
• You are proficient in one or more of Python, PHP, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL and are comfortable contributing across frontend and backend systems.
• You have experience designing, building, troubleshooting, and operating cloud-based applications and distributed services.
• You write secure, maintainable code and apply appropriate automated testing practices.
• You are comfortable working with ambiguous requirements, identifying risks, making technical trade-offs, and developing a practical path toward delivery.
• You communicate concepts clearly and support other engineers through mentoring, feedback, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• You balance delivery speed with quality, maintainability, technical risk, and long-term product needs.
• You have a growth mindset and proactively identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering tasks, improve team efficiency, and expand your capabilities. 

Bonus Points if You Have 

• Experience working effectively in distributed or remote-first teams
• Experience building a SaaS product, cybersecurity, cloud security, CSPM, CNAPP, or endpoint protection
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services and cloud-native architecture
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts, identity and access management, compliance frameworks, or infrastructure-as-code
